Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of electrical characterization of power devices, including IV, CV, pulsed IV, and gate charge, using high-voltage test instrumentation and curve tracers for on-wafer probing with semiautomatic probe stations.
  • Ability to design circuit boards for packaged device tests such as UIS and switching performance.
  • Familiarity with JEDEC qualification standards, including HTRB, HTGB, TDDB, and thermal cycling, and their evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis and measurement automation.
  • Experience with power device parameter extraction for data sheets.
  • Experience with schematic entry, circuit simulation, and PCB layout tools.
  • A master's degree or PhD in electrical engineering focused on power device design or characterization, or at least five years of relevant industry experience.
  • Familiarity with medium-voltage power devices for 600–1200 V applications, such as GaN HEMTs, SiC MOSFETs, or Si IGBTs.
  • Ability to work closely with semiconductor device engineers and take a high degree of ownership in the role.
Responsibilities
  • Characterize vertical gallium nitride devices for target applications using on-wafer and packaged device test setups.
  • Support the engineering team through the commercialization of vertical gallium nitride technology.
  • Design circuit boards for packaged device tests, including ultra-short-circuit and switching-performance tests.
  • Evaluate JEDEC qualification standards and test results.
  • Extract key power-device parameters for data sheets.
  • Perform data analysis and measurement automation.
