Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least three years of continuous employment in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform math skills is required.
  • Ability to pass a colorblindness test is required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and measure in feet and inches is required.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend regularly is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques is required.
  • Must provide personal steel-toed boots.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat conditions.
  • Must have schedule flexibility to work assigned primary shifts and assist on other shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Correctly and safely set up and operate multiple extrusion lines.
  • Check and maintain product quality according to provided specifications.
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, and material flow.
  • Record and maintain production data.
  • Safely perform color and die changes at appropriate times according to the production schedule.
  • Trim, stack, and package finished products to prepare them for shipment.

Platinum Equity to acquire synthetic materials manufacturer Tangent Technologies

Platinum Equity has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Tangent Technologies, a leading manufacturer of high-performance synthetic materials for outdoor living, marine, decking, fencing and infrastructure markets. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. Headquartered in Aurora, Illinois, Tangent manufactures premium HDPE materials using post-consumer and post-industrial recycled feedstock. The company operates a vertically integrated manufacturing platform with significant recycling capabilities, producing lumber, sheet and structural solutions for various applications. Platinum Equity, which manages approximately $48 billion in assets, plans to leverage its M&A and operational capabilities to support Tangent's growth, including pursuing strategic acquisitions. The firm has completed over 550 acquisitions since its founding in 1995.

Tangent Materials has announced that its Tangent PolySheet CB has become the first NSF Standard 51 Food Equipment Material globally certified to NSF 537 for being PFAS-free. The food-grade cutting-board sheet is formulated without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as "forever chemicals". The product is designed for demanding food-contact environments including cutting boards, food-prep surfaces, processing equipment and commercial kitchen components. It meets rigorous safety requirements whilst maintaining performance and durability. Tangent Materials, founded in 2003, specialises in high-performance synthetic materials. The product will be distributed by Professional Plastics, with nationwide commercial availability expected in summer 2026. CEO Kevin Potthoff said the development reflects the company's commitment to combining material science leadership with consumer safety.
