Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • An engineering degree is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment is required; A Class experience and metal stamping experience are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality management or supervision position is required.
  • Experience obtaining and maintaining company- and customer-required quality certifications, such as IATF, ISO, and Q1 certifications.
  • Familiarity with automotive original equipment manufacturer quality requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of quality systems, including 8D, Measurement Systems Analysis, Automotive Advanced Product Quality Planning, and Production Part Approval Process.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, gage design, and gage function.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, benchmark, improve, design, develop, and standardize plant quality systems.
  • Represent the quality function in technical support activities with internal support groups regarding manufacturing issues.
  • Initiate and approve supplier and customer production and process-control activities and review their implementation and effectiveness.
  • Maintain the quality-control sampling system and procedures, including Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, and International Material Data System activities.
  • Ensure that the Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, and third-party audits, including SQF and IMS audits.
  • Manage, audit, and continuously improve IATF 16949 systems and customer-specific requirements.
  • Direct customer and supplier liaisons for plant quality activities and concerns, including scheduled visits.
  • Establish and maintain quality documents, samples, customer contacts, supplier development, production start-up, product launches, correction of production variances, and warranty analysis.
  • Coach and manage departmental talent while ensuring compliance with human resources policies and procedures.
  • Ensure engineering deviation and change-management processes are effective, including authorized approvals, deviation control plans, lot identification and traceability, verification of non-standard process control, root-cause analysis, deviation expiry or exit by time period or quantity, and closure.
Desired Qualifications

  • ASQ, CQE, or CQM certification.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

CIBC Bank USA provides senior credit facility to Spartanburg Steel Products to refinance debt and support growth

CIBC Bank USA Asset Based Lending has closed a senior credit facility for Spartanburg Steel Products, Inc., a South Carolina-based manufacturer of metal stampings, assemblies and body modules for automotive, agriculture and heavy equipment industries. The facility includes a revolving line of credit, a real estate-secured term loan and an equipment acquisition line. Proceeds will refinance existing debt and support working capital and growth initiatives. CIBC's US asset-based lending team provides financing solutions ranging from $10 million to $75 million for middle-market companies and private equity partners, supporting acquisitions, recapitalisations, refinances and turnarounds. Regional Originations Manager Ron Kerdasha said the tailored financing aligns with Spartanburg Steel's strategic objectives and long-term growth ambitions.
