- At least 1 year of experience in the orthopedic specialty.
- Flu vaccination is required with no exemptions.
- At least 1 year of Epic charting experience is required.
- Experience with the Omnicell medication system.
- Active Tennessee registered nurse license or multistate license.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certifications are required.
- Traveler experience is required, including experience in medical-surgical/telemetry for floating.
- Travelers must complete an electrocardiogram examination and medical-surgical/telemetry competency assessment.
- The traveler must be able to float as needed according to skill set.
- Experience with intravenous therapy and phlebotomy, including port access and management, blood product administration, central-line blood draws, peripheral-line care and management, peripherally inserted central catheter management, and starting and maintaining intravenous lines.
- Experience with gastrointestinal care, including bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, colostomy and ileostomy management and care, and feeding-tube care and management.
- Experience in medical-surgical, medical-surgical/telemetry, short-stay 23-hour units, and telemetry settings.
- Experience with orthopedic care, including orthopedic trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, and total joint replacement.
- Assess patient status.
- Manage patient pain.
- Assist with patient mobility and recovery.
- Support post-surgical healing.
- Educate patients on rehabilitation, safe movement, and preventing future injuries.
- Previous charge experience.
- Teaching hospital experience.
- Community hospital experience.
- Teaching and community hospital experience for travelers.
