Field Hockey Analytics & Support

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion. The Field Hockey Analytics & Support will report to the Head Field Hockey Coach and work with all Assistant Field Hockey coaches to code and scout games during in season play, film all games and work with social media.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coding of all scout games for each opponent during in-season play.
• Film and live code all games for Field Hockey, plus post-game tagging appends.
• Perform in-depth opponent scouts and analyze tendencies to enable quicker turn arounds for staff on multi-game weekends and during post-season play.
• Provide video analysis of recruits to increase ability of coaching staff to obtain evaluations during recruiting events.
• Off-season analysis of top international and NCAA hockey to implement new tactics and skills into LU Field Hockey environment.
• Load and manage WHOOP data – Aggregation, analysis and reporting to coaches and athletic trainers of other performance related data.
• Function as a research assistant to the head coach, aiding in psychological performance.
• Ensure a consistent social media presence, act as a liaison to social media manager and coordinate with student athletes for special features.
• Assist with the development of goalkeepers.
• Spearhead alumni relations.
• Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred.  Areas of study in statistics, analytics, economics or sports science would be advantageous, but not required if experienced in other related fields.

Experience requirements: Division I playing and/or coaching experience at a top 20 program.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting.  It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.  Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.    

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.  Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
