Requirements
  • A PhD in Social Work, completed or in progress, or a master's degree in Social Work with five years of teaching experience.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing tertiary subject curricula and teaching materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and administer the successful delivery of tertiary subjects.
  • A strong understanding of social work theory and practice.
  • High professional and ethical conduct, resilience, and a collaborative approach to teaching and industry engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct face-to-face teaching and student engagement sessions and learning materials.
  • Develop learning materials including study guides, webinars, and assessment instructions for assigned subjects.
  • Provide study assistance to students face-to-face, via the Learning Management System, over the phone, or via email.
  • Encourage student engagement in their studies.
  • Mark student assessments in accordance with assessment and moderation policies.
  • Identify and liaise with students at risk and establish individual learning plans as needed.
  • Maintain subject sites on the Learning Management System.
  • Ensure ongoing development, improvement, and delivery of the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program while complying with the Higher Education Standards Framework.
  • Map the role to the units delivered in the program and stay abreast of current and emerging principles and best practices.
