Job Description

The Washington Post’s Food team is looking for a full-time editorial aide to join our dynamic team of journalists. This is a detail-oriented position that requires a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask. 

Responsibilities: 

• Day-to-day administrative tasks for the Food team, including reader communication. 

• Support editors in the test kitchen and photo studio.  

• General writing and research tasks, including recipe roundups, gathering nutritional information and recipe database entry.  

• Opportunities to help grow our social media presence, test and develop recipes, and occasionally write feature stories. 

Preferred qualifications: 

• A passion for food journalism. 

• Punctuality, initiative, reliability and ability to take direction well.  

• Clear communication skills.  

This position is based in our Washington newsroom and starts at $28/hr.
