Requirements
- Experience designing, provisioning, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity technologies.
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and virtual private networks.
- Experience working with access control lists, TCP/IP, VLAN, VRF, port security, traffic shaping, priority queuing, class of service, IP multicast, routing, and switching.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels within an organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to attend training classes to keep skills current.
- Ability to lift and move computers and other peripheral computer equipment.
- Solid communication skills, good diction, and the ability to articulate information clearly.
- Ability to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines.
- Ability to make judgment decisions and handle daily or routine responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Deploy LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, hubs, switches, WAN accelerators, and other hardware.
- Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Configure LAN/WAN networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation in support of business objectives and processes.
- Monitor network stability, availability, and performance.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems as needed.
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customers' hardware and software.
- Manage network assets, including network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications.
