We’re looking for a Test Engineer to work with our hardware, software, and robotics teams.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop tests for autonomous systems
- Define minimum operating requirements
- Identify and test edge cases
- Evaluate long-term productivity metrics
- Evaluate stability of components and/or features
- Automate testing for use by operations team
- Document and debug issues in hardware sensors/actuators, software features, user interface, etc.
- Work with the team to deploy releases in a mission critical environment
- Work in our office (downtown San Francisco, CA) as well as our test site (Richmond, CA)
Requirements:
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Able to create and debug software systems: building maintainable code with good diagnostics that scale
- Excellent at handling ambiguous or undefined problems
- Experience performing root-cause analysis
- Experience defining requirements and design docs for new tools to increase testing capabilities
- Experience in robotic systems (particularly autonomous systems) and/or data science
- Familiarity in continuous build, integration, test and delivery systems
- Proficiency in Python and modern C++, including object-oriented design
- Proficiency in "wearing a lot of hats", as our stack contains features from machine learning all the way to mechanical sensors/actuators
- Excellent communication skills in order to act as the glue between engineering team and operations team
- Experience in git
- Ability to communicate with and collaborate across software, hardware, project, and operations teams to achieve goals
- Relevant professional experience to the above qualifications
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full time position based in San Francisco, CA, with a salary range between $100,000 - $160,000. Actual compensation offered will depend on work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Pronto reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.
