Requirements
  • High school graduate.
  • Complete Clinical Competencies required for assigned area before working off orientation.
  • CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse student, or preferred one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • BLS required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the care of patients as delegated by the Registered Nurse, Physician, or Mid-level provider.
  • Provide secretary/clerical assistance.
  • Tasks that may be delegated include, but are not limited to, vital signs, accucheck, ambulation, simple (non-sterile) dressing changes, toileting assistance, EKGs, patient transport to other departments, answering the phone, faxing, preparing charts.
