Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in information security
  • At least 4 years of experience leading incident response or relevant cyber defense functions
  • Familiarity with conducting digital/network forensic investigations
  • Experience with securing and responding to incidents in cloud environments
  • Ability to express complex technical information and concepts to a broad audience
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO, GDPR, NY DFS, etc
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to calmly handle investigations
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and investigate network and system activity for suspicious events
  • Manage in house and third-party analysts and responders as appropriate
  • Perform threat hunting exercises based on shared intelligence, TPPs, and investigation results
  • Act as subject matter expert to other teams within the Company, providing guidance on preparing, containing, responding, and preventing incidents
  • Prepare incident reports and review incidents with regulators, auditors, and senior leadership
  • Assist in the selection and development of methodologies, tools, policies, and procedures in support of cyber defense initiatives
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify causes of the incident, document lessons learned, and apply corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Provide regular updates on incidents to senior management and other relevant stakeholder
  • Maintain appropriate records and chains of custody for all incident activity
  • Serve as the point of escalation for all cyber incidents
  • Capable of providing expert testimony in court or at public inquiries as required
  • Coordinate annual tabletop exercises to test the effectiveness of the incident response program
  • Build and deliver information security and awareness training to employees as necessary
  • Oversee the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities within the environment
  • Design, build, and oversee the company's Incident Response processes and procedures
  • Participate in technical meetings and working groups to address issues related to information security and incident preparedness
  • Evaluate and maintain relationships with external technical and legal specialists, and closely manage the work of these providers
  • Investigate security incidents
