Requirements
  • Minimum of four years of experience in relevant community development, organizing, or advocacy work. Graduate degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in the housing and community development sector and/or understanding of how housing contributes to a broader ecosystem of opportunity.
  • Authentic commitment to and capacity to advance anti-racist practice and equitable outcomes.
  • Project management experience and well-developed organizational, interpersonal communication and group facilitation skills.
  • Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data/information and distilling key findings/conclusions.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to clearly express ideas, thoughts, and concepts verbally, in writing and visually.
  • Available for travel.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Directors of the Upward Mobility team on program design and execution, partnership development, project management, and team building.
  • Support the provision of technical assistance/capacity-building to housing providers and cross-sector partnerships seeking to advance economic mobility through housing strategies. Travel will be required.
  • Support the launch of rental assistance program, including partnership development, market assessments, strategy/program design, and early implementation.
  • Support cross-sector collaboration, community-driven processes, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, strategy design and implementation, capital deployment, and policy development.
  • Prepare content for and facilitate participatory meetings, capturing takeaways and working with stakeholders to ensure follow-up.
  • Monitor progress and achievements of programmatic work across teams, support the tracking and reporting of results and outcomes, troubleshoot emerging issues, and provide additional support or capacity as needed.

Taking On Bilt, Stake Aims To Expand Its Cash-Back Rewards Program For Renters

Aiming to compete with Bilt in the nascent property renter rewards market, Stake, a startup that provides cash back and banking services to renters, today announced that it raised $12 million in a Series A round led by RET Ventures’ new RET Ventures ESG Fund. Enterprise Community Partners, Hometeam Ventures, Operator Stack, Shadow Ventures, Olive Tree Ventures and Second Century Ventures, the investment arm of the National Association of Realtors, also participated, bringing Stake’s total raised to $17.9 million. Co-founder and CEO Rowland Hobbs says the new capital will be put toward expanding the platform and increasing Stake’s workforce from 17 employees to 23 by the end of the year
