Requirements
  • A Basic Life Support Provider credential from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • One of the following Medical Assistant credentials is required before hire or transfer: National Healthcareer Association Medical Assistant, American Registry of Medical Assistants Registered Medical Assistant, American Medical Technologists Medical Assistant, National Center for Competency Testing Medical Assistant, or American Association of Medical Assistants Medical Assistant.
  • A high school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience is required.
  • Required professional licensure or certification may be used in lieu of education or experience when applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Support patient care by assisting with treatments and conducting clinical assessments.
  • Document patient histories, vital signs, and provider encounters in accurate medical records.
  • Transcribe orders, coordinate tests, and communicate follow-up instructions.
  • Manage clinical resources and treatment areas to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
  • Provide patient communication and record-maintenance support to keep the department running efficiently.
