Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 0-3 months of job training or experience to become proficient with all mailroom and receiving functions as well as learning the location of team members and departments
  • Must become knowledgeable of Company procedures for receiving and checking in mail and packages
  • Keyboard skills to enter data into Meijer systems
  • Ability to operate more sophisticated equipment such as the folder, inserter, postage meter, hand jack, motorized pallet jack, walk behind Hi-Low
  • Excellent driving skills and good driving record
  • Physical agility and strength is required to safely lift, push, tug and pull packages or equipment up to 75 lbs
  • Requires endurance for moving items, walking, standing or driving during most of the work day
  • Ability to complete work within defined daily and hourly deadlines
Responsibilities
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and packages for distribution across the Corporate Campus
  • Comply with internal policies when processing P.O. Box mail and processing paperwork for international samples
  • Apply postage to outgoing mail and packages for most cost-effective delivery
  • Prepare outgoing totes for shipment to stores, manufacturing and distribution facilities
  • Performs daily mail pickups from the U.S. Post Office
  • Sorts incoming USPS and intra-company mail
  • Delivers mail to workrooms on a weekly basis
  • Research unidentified recipients and misdirected mail
  • Scans in mail and packages received on campus from FedEx and other express carriers
  • Deliver packages to centralized shelving units for each business area daily
  • Generates notifications to team member to prompt package pickup
  • Will use a folder and envelope inserter for bulk mailings
  • Uses postal machines and meters to create shipping labels, weigh, select and apply postage for cost efficiency
  • Logs and reports postage costs as required
  • Operates equipment to move large, bulky or heavy packages and pallets; such as hand jack, package lift, motorized pallet jack and walk behind Hi-Low
  • Inventories and orders office supplies to maintains office supplies levels in each Workroom
  • Performs weekly coupon sort from the stores and reseals package for weekly shipment to vendor’s redemption center
  • Handles sending and receiving of business records from off-site storage company and delivers to departments

Meijer to open 47,000-square-foot grocery store in Rochester Hills on 6 May

Meijer will open a new 47,000-square-foot grocery format store on 6 May at 1495 N. Rochester Road in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The location will be the family-owned retailer's 128th store in Michigan and its third grocery format store in the state. The streamlined format focuses on fresh food and everyday essentials at everyday low prices, featuring produce, bakery, meat, seafood, deli departments, pharmacy, and health and beauty sections. Meijer launched its grocery format in 2023 with two stores in Southeast Michigan and plans additional locations. The store will offer Meijer's digital shopping tools, including mPerks Shop & Scan, home delivery and pickup services. Hourly, part-time and full-time positions remain available. Meijer employs over 40,000 team members across Michigan.

Meijer opens 59th Ohio supercenter in Bainbridge Township on 6 May

Meijer will open its new Bainbridge Township supercenter in Aurora, Ohio, on 6 May, marking the family-owned retailer's 59th location in the state. The 159,000-square-foot store at 7300 Aurora Road sits on the former Geauga Lake amusement park site. The supercenter will offer fresh produce, grocery staples, bakery, meat, seafood and deli departments, plus a full-service pharmacy with drive-through, garden centre, and sections for apparel, home goods, electronics and sporting goods. Meijer employs more than 14,000 team members across Ohio at stores and facilities in Tipp City.
