Requirements
  • The role requires 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Support Operations, Business Operations, Operational Excellence, Customer Support, or related leadership roles within a global technology organization.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline is required.
  • Significant experience leading large-scale outsourced or third-party support delivery models in complex global enterprise environments is required.
  • Proven expertise in vendor governance, partner performance management, service-level agreement and key performance indicator ownership, and outsourced operations leadership is required.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational excellence, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives at scale is required.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with experience using data and insights to improve support and business outcomes, are required.
  • Experience enabling support transformation through automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities is required.
  • The candidate must be able to lead through influence in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • The candidate must have a strong leadership presence and the ability to drive accountability, clarity, and operational discipline across internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Support leadership to define and execute the Global Support Operational Excellence strategy, identify regional inconsistencies and process gaps, and drive standardization and scalability aligned with business priorities and customer outcomes.
  • Evaluate regional best practices and implement scalable global solutions that improve consistency while supporting business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes, eliminate waste, improve productivity, and foster accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Establish standard operating practices and governance frameworks that enable a predictable and high-performing Support organization.
  • Lead operational planning, capacity planning, and business forecasting and pacing activities to improve predictability and ensure achievement of quarterly financial and operational commitments.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators, scorecards, and executive dashboards that provide visibility into operational health, customer support outcomes, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Analyze operational Support trends and provide recommendations to improve productivity, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
  • Drive operational initiatives that improve the customer support experience, strengthen contract renewals, protect recurring revenue, and support achievement of company financial objectives.
  • Partner with Finance and Support leadership to identify opportunities that improve operational efficiency, optimize cost-to-serve, and contribute to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization performance.
  • Drive day-to-day execution of strategic support partners by ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and achievement of customer, quality, productivity, and service delivery objectives.
  • Partner with the TMO to monitor governance mechanisms, performance reviews, and improvement plans that drive accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage immediate transaction-level service interruptions and operational gaps by implementing corrective measures within current standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as an escalation point for support delivery issues to the TMO.
  • Monitor real-time compliance and support delivery metrics, establishing standard work that triggers proactive interventions and corrective measures when leading indicators signal declining operational health.
  • Lead initiatives that improve operational maturity, partnering with regional Support leaders to remove barriers and align priorities across the global organization.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage tool automation, analytics, artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities, and technology solutions to improve efficiency and reduce operational complexity.
  • Influence organizational change and adoption of new processes, operating models, and business practices through leadership presence and cross-functional collaboration.

GE Vernova secures $6M state funding for $96M energy research centre in Niskayuna

GE Vernova has secured an additional $6 million in state funding for its $96 million Advanced Research Center on Balltown Road in Niskayuna, New York. The grant, awarded through the FAST NY programme, will fund water supply, road and stormwater management upgrades at the campus, offsetting roughly half of the $12 million in required infrastructure improvements. The company previously received $9.6 million in state tax credits linked to plans for creating 75 new jobs at the research centre, along with low-cost hydropower allocation. The site, separate from GE Vernova's existing River Road labs, will house energy technology research including a direct air capture carbon system currently under testing. GE Vernova earned nearly $5 billion in 2025 on $38 billion in revenue, with a market value of $242 billion.

ThinkLabs raises $28M USD Series A to help power grids handle AI data centre demand

ThinkLabs has raised $28 million USD ($39 million CAD) in a Series A round led by Energy Impact Partners to help power grids manage surging demand from AI data centres. Nvidia's venture fund NVentures and Edison International participated, alongside returning investors including GE Vernova. The Canadian-led, New York-based startup provides physics-informed AI software that creates digital twins of power grids, simulating scenarios to help operators maintain reliability and reduce outages. The platform reduces what would typically be a six-month, quarter-million-dollar study to under a day's analysis. Founded by former Toronto Hydro smart-grid department head Josh Wong, ThinkLabs spun out of GE Vernova in early 2024 with $6.8 million CAD in seed funding. The company will use the new capital to mature its product and expand features whilst focusing on the North American market.

Trump and Japan unveil up to $40B US nuclear reactor plan

President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi have unveiled a US-Japan energy investment plan potentially worth $40 billion, centring on small modular nuclear reactors. GE Vernova and Hitachi will develop BWRX-300 reactors in Tennessee and Alabama, whilst Japan will invest up to $33 billion in natural gas plants in Pennsylvania and Texas. The initiative forms part of a broader $550 billion bilateral investment fund agreed under a recent trade pact. It aims to address rising electricity demand from data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure. However, most SMR designs await regulatory approval and none have been deployed on US grids. The agreement also covers critical minerals and industrial supply chains, with Japanese firms contributing components and participating in rare-earth projects across Indiana, Arizona and North Carolina.
