Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Seven or more years of experience managing complex technical projects with real design content, with relevant experience in data center, oil and gas, product manufacturing, industrial infrastructure, power, or large-scale construction.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams and managing external consultants through a full design lifecycle.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to create structure, anticipate problems, and drive clarity in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise project documentation and executive-level status reports.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent, and experience implementing or improving project management workflows and tooling.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced owner/developer environment where roles are broad and initiative is expected.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end project management of a portfolio of concurrent data center design and solution delivery programs from initiation through construction-ready handoff.
  • Build and maintain integrated master schedules across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, technology, and specialty design disciplines.
  • Establish program governance, including milestone gates, design review cadences, change control protocols, and decision logs that create accountability without creating overhead.
  • Identify risks, interdependencies, and blockers early and resolve them before they become issues.
  • Produce portfolio-level status reporting for leadership, including schedule health, risk register, open decisions, and escalation flags.
  • Own Fluidstack’s internal template program for design and engineering delivery, including project management playbooks, design review templates, consultant scopes, RFP frameworks, and meeting structures.
  • Drive standardization across the portfolio so every project starts from a proven foundation.
  • Continuously improve templates based on lessons learned and team feedback; maintain version control and ensure adoption.
  • Build and maintain a document control and deliverable tracking system that provides real-time visibility into the status of every design package.
  • Champion the use of automation, tooling, and digital workflows within the design and engineering domain to eliminate manual effort and reduce administrative friction.
  • Identify repetitive processes across the project lifecycle and build systematic solutions, whether that is a structured template, a script, or a platform workflow.
  • Evaluate and implement project management and design coordination platforms; drive adoption and configure tools to match how the team actually works.
  • Serve as the operational interface between design engineers and project tools, so engineers spend their time on technical work, not on tracking and reporting.
  • Coordinate design deliverable schedules across external consultants and track against program milestones.
  • Manage the consultant procurement and scoping process, including developing RFPs, evaluating proposals, supporting contract negotiations, and onboarding design teams to Fluidstack’s standards.
  • Run design milestone reviews (Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation): prepare agendas, track open items, drive resolution, and document decisions.
  • Manage the request for information and design clarification process during early construction phases to maintain continuity between design and build.
  • Coordinate between internal technical leads and external delivery teams to ensure design scope, budget, and schedule remain aligned.
  • Serve as the primary project management contact for design consultants, equipment vendors, and internal stakeholders across each program.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops, value engineering sessions, and coordination meetings with real estate, construction, operations, and infrastructure teams.
  • Manage long-lead equipment coordination and vendor submittals in alignment with design and procurement schedules.
  • Provide structured, concise communications to the right stakeholders at the right cadence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in data center, mission-critical, or hyperscale infrastructure development.
  • Background in product manufacturing, process engineering, or technically complex production environments where delivery rigor and design quality intersect.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling and digital delivery environments, including Autodesk Autodesk Construction Cloud/ BIM 360, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Project Management Professional, Program Management Professional, or equivalent project/program management certification.
  • Exposure to capital project financial management, including budgeting, cost reporting, and change order management.

FluidStack provides GPU-based cloud infrastructure for artificial intelligence workloads, delivering large-scale Nvidia GPU clusters through a neocloud model. The platform offers automated provisioning and a centralized orchestration layer that hides hardware complexity, with native support for Kubernetes and Slurm and proprietary monitoring to track power usage and hardware health. It targets AI labs, research institutions, and enterprise tech teams that need scalable, pay-as-you-go access to high-performance compute without owning data centers. The company's goal is to make it easy for organizations to train, develop, and deploy complex machine learning models by providing reliable, scalable GPU resources on demand.

UK data centre startup Fluidstack raises $750M, hits $7B valuation for US AI expansion

Fluidstack, a London-founded data centre startup, has been valued at $7 billion after raising over $750 million in funding. The company, established in 2017 by Gary Wu, Cesar Maklary and James Cox, is building AI infrastructure across America. The startup relocated its headquarters from London to New York in December to focus on US customers, creating over 1,000 jobs. New investors include Situational Awareness, an AI hedge fund founded by former OpenAI employee Leopold Aschenbrenner. Fluidstack is backed by Google, which has provided a $1.8 billion backstop to the company's data centre lease obligations and is reportedly in talks for an equity stake. The company is also working with Anthropic to build up to $50 billion of AI data facilities across New York and Texas.

Fluidstack scraps $11.5B French data center for US expansion backed by $50B Anthropic deal

Fluidstack has abandoned an $11.5 billion data centre project in northern France to focus on US expansion, according to Bloomberg. The operator is relocating its global headquarters from the UK to New York and exited a secondary facility near Paris used by Mistral. The move could prove beneficial for Bitcoin miners partnering with Fluidstack. Hut 8, TeraWulf and Cipher Mining have signed deals with the firm over the past six months. Hut 8's 15-year agreement to build a 245-megawatt Louisiana site with Fluidstack and Anthropic generates $7 billion in revenue, potentially rising to $17.7 billion with expansion clauses. Fluidstack's US expansion includes a $50 billion master agreement with Anthropic to operate compute clusters across New York, Texas and other states.

Google-backed Fluidstack signs $7B, 15-year AI lease with Hut 8 as miner pivots to data centres

Hut 8 Corp has signed a 15-year, $7 billion IT capacity lease with Google-backed Fluidstack at its River Bend campus, marking a strategic shift from pure Bitcoin mining towards AI and data centre infrastructure. The company also sold a 310MW natural gas power plant portfolio to refocus capital. The deal is part of Hut 8's broader push to build 245MW to 2,295MW of AI data centre capacity with blue-chip clients. The company is carving out legacy mining operations into American Bitcoin whilst developing an 8,500MW infrastructure pipeline. Hut 8's narrative projects $767.3 million revenue and $140.6 million earnings by 2028, requiring 76.9% yearly revenue growth. Some analysts expect the company to reach $1.1 billion in revenue by 2028, though execution risks and potential dilution from capital-intensive expansion remain key concerns.
