Requirements
  • Previous experience in a creative, event coordination, or activity planning role.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to obtain a commercial driver's license and must obtain the commercial driver's license within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills and compassion for older adults.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular community events to enrich residents' lives.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service for residents.
  • Engage in prospective resident visits.
  • Conduct welcome orientations for new residents.
  • Base monthly programs on the Whole Person Wellness Model and incorporate at least two of its six experiences: Intellectual, Social, Emotional, Vocational, Spiritual, and Physical.
  • Prepare a monthly lifestyle newsletter using current program or software tools.
  • Use an iPad to enrich residents' lives.
  • Use software applications, programs, and tools required for the Lifestyle Director position.
  • Manage department petty cash and/or credit card, record cash receipts and expenditures, and balance accounts monthly.
  • Communicate pertinent information and weekend activity schedules to the weekend manager.
  • Represent American House professionally at community events.
  • Design and complete the main activity board.
  • Update seasonal and holiday decorations throughout the building.
  • Schedule and provide transportation for group events and personal appointments.
  • Create and maintain outing signup sheets.
  • Establish, recruit for, and oversee the volunteer program.
  • Use the BILD sales system successfully.
  • Notify the Executive Director of emergency situations.
  • Identify areas or articles requiring repair and report them to the Assistant Director.
  • Communicate required maintenance or repairs of the building vehicle to the Executive Director and Maintenance Director.
  • Maintain the commercial driver's license.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
