Hermeus is a startup developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. At Mach 5, more than twice the speed of the supersonic Concorde, passengers will be able to cross the Atlantic in 90 minutes. On the path to hypersonic passenger aircraft, Hermeus is partnering with government agencies including the US Air Force and NASA to develop a series of autonomous aircraft that derisk the technology and solve urgent national security challenges. These products provide the data and confidence necessary to certify, produce, operate, and maintain safe and comfortable commercial aircraft. Hypersonic aircraft have the potential to create trillions of dollars of new global economic growth per year, unlocking significant resources that can be utilized to solve the world’s greatest problems.

An integration and manufacturing engineer on the Quarterhorse aircraft engineering team is responsible for the manufacturing plan, integration strategy, and build of the Hermeus hypersonic aircraft.

The Opportunity and How You’ll Impact Hermeus:

Cradle to grave ownership of the aircraft integration process and build
Manufacturing checks and approvals of flight designs and drawings - participate in design reviews
Lead manufacturing readiness reviews

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering
5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing role to support aircraft or spacecraft build operations
5+ years of experience with CAD, 2D drawings, and GD&T
Familiarity and experience working in an AS9100 compliant manufacturing environment
Experience writing and modifying work instructions
Experience in a research and development environment, taking taking hardware from concept to test
