Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a design-related field or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and demonstrated expertise, with a strong portfolio and hands-on design-system experience accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
  • At least 4 years of UI, product, or related design experience, including hands-on experience building and owning a design-system component library.
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant UI and design-system work, including component-library development.
  • Hands-on production experience using Claude and/or Claude Code, including configuring, prompting, and troubleshooting AI-assisted development tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including variables, design tokens, component variants, and auto layout.
  • Ability to create clear, usable design-system documentation for designers and engineers.
  • Understanding of how design tokens translate into code, such as CSS variables or similar implementation approaches.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards and their application to UI components and design systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
  • Design and refine core UI components, including form elements, filters, navigation, and tables, using the existing token and typography foundations.
  • Ensure components work across the six-workspace shell pattern and remain reusable across products.
  • Define consistent variant and state conventions, including default, hover, focus, disabled, and error states, along with responsive behavior.
  • Build component-level documentation covering usage guidelines, do's and don'ts, states and variants, and accessibility notes.
  • Document how design tokens map to code implementation.
  • Set up or extend a documentation platform such as Storybook as a single source of truth for designers and engineers.
  • Configure Claude Code and related tooling, including Figma Code Connect and MCP-based workflows, to connect the design system to the codebase.
  • Build workflows and configuration that enable engineers to generate design-system-compliant code with fewer manual handoff steps.
  • Document the AI-assisted workflow so the internal team can maintain and extend it after the contract ends.
  • Work directly with the Product Designer Manager and design team to prioritize components.
  • Partner with engineering to validate implementation and resolve adoption friction.
