Requirements
  • At least five years of experience driving a tractor-trailer combination.
  • A current Driver's Abstract must be attached with the resume.
  • A valid Class 1 License.
  • An Air Brake Endorsement Certificate.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Knowledge of basic safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of operating a motor vehicle.
  • Experience with vehicles and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of the territory in which the driver will be working.
  • Physical stamina for physical off-loading of product throughout each workday.
  • A track record of excellent driving skills, a friendly attitude, and professional customer communication.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes, and reflective vest, at delivery work sites.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver company products in a timely and secure manner.
  • Operate a Class 1 tractor-trailer combination.
  • Physically off-load products throughout each workday with assistance from a shipping assistant.
  • Ensure loads are secure and the vehicle is equipped with a full set of chains in good repair and a chain repair kit.
  • Use the Delivery Photo App to provide live proof of delivery for every shipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks, with records available for inspection for the past 14 days.
  • Collect customer signatures on site or record the delivery date, time, and initials when no one is present.
  • Remove all snow before departing from the shipping yard.
  • Complete the trip sheet daily.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and managers.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and safety checks.
  • Complete a Field Level Risk Assessment before commencing each job, communicate it with the shipping assistant, and obtain a signature.
  • Complete tasks safely in accordance with the company's safety program and department policies.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately to the dispatcher and the person in charge at the site, and wait for instructions.
  • Communicate health, safety, and environmental issues or concerns to the supervisor or health, safety, and environment coordinator and provide constructive solutions.

  • Moffat experience.
  • Standard First Aid certification.
