As a Processing Associate you will report to the Bank Ops Processing Manager and will work independently, and with additional members of the Bank Operations team. You will play a key role in supporting the processing team by owning dispute investigation and resolution, consumer mobile deposit processing and addressing inquiries from the customer experience team.
In order to be successful, you will have strong knowledge of Regulation E, dispute life cycle management, and mobile check processing rules. You must be someone with a ‘can do’ attitude and who is effective with time management and strong adherence to SLA’s and resolution time frames.
You will play a key role in supporting the processing team in highlighting opportunities of process improvement and operational efficiency while delivering on commitments. To be successful in this role, you must ask questions and have a solutions-oriented mindset.
What you’ll do:
- Day to day dispute research and resolution for consumer transactions as per Regulation E, NACHA and MasterCard Rules and other Federal Regulations.
- Consumer Mobile Deposit processing, including check validation, check returns and adjustments as per procedures.
- Process stop payment request and account closures as per policies and procedures.
- Work with partner and external banks to address requests as well as documentation sharing.
- Independently execute decisions and take appropriate action on escalated requests from the Client Experience team.
- Tackle tough customer disputes working closely with other team members and management to get resolutions.
- Collaborate with the team to foster an effective environment that continuously improves processes and manages risk
- Identify trends and patterns in customer disputes to escalate possible fraud to the appropriate team.
- Identify possible AML violations in customer disputes and escalate events to the Financial Crimes Team for further investigation.
- Keep abreast of new rules, regulations and reputational risks to assist in development, implementation and revision of current policies and procedures
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience handling consumer disputes and chargebacks in banking, financial services, or consumer finance.
- Experience in Bank Operations, payments and exception processing.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent work ethic and motivation to grow professionally
- An eye for detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure while demonstrating effective time management skills ensuring time is used efficiently and productively.
- Strong knowledge of ACH and credit/debit card rails while also having working knowledge of other payment channels operating rules
- Experience with Zendesk a plus

Salary Range: $61k - $92k
The base salary range represents the reasonably anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and competencies, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data for companies of our size and industry.
