Requirements
  • IAODAPCA certification as a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor.
  • Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment.
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs.
  • A valid driver's license is required to travel to different programs.
  • Ability to lift 15–25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical services to clients in accordance with the client's treatment plan at the appropriate level of care required by the American Society of Addiction Medicine clinical structure.
  • Use the Automated System as the primary instrument to complete clinical progress documentation.
  • Participate in at least four hours per month of direct clinical supervision, including one hour of one-on-one supervision with the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and comply with record-keeping standards required by regulatory funding agencies and the American Society of Addiction Medicine clinical structure.
  • Provide direct clinical services for clients diagnosed with substance abuse or co-occurring disorders at different levels of care indicated by the treatment plan.
  • Ensure that current treatment plans and pertinent clinical record-keeping data exist for each client on the caseload.
  • Participate in and present at Utilization Management Team staffing as scheduled.
  • Ensure that clinical documentation supports recommendations when presenting at Utilization Management Team staffing.
  • Ensure that Utilization Management Team treatment recommendations are incorporated into clients' treatment plans.
  • Maintain productivity and clinical standards required by treatment plans.
  • Respond within the required time frame established by utilization management and the Program Supervisor to implement corrective action on cited clinical record-keeping issues.
  • Participate in Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor and Mental Health/Substance Abuse in-service training during the probationary period and in ongoing professional development approved by the Program Supervisor.
  • Keep all certification and licensing requirements active and up to date.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
  • Two years of direct client service in a substance abuse or Mental Health/Substance Abuse treatment setting.
  • Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine standards and clinical quality assurance standards.
