Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • Successful completion of an advanced armed services technical school curriculum, or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of courses at an accredited college, university, or technical school in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum, is highly desired.
  • At least 5 years of experience performing the stated or similar job functions is required.
  • Successful completion of Air Intercept Controller (0318) or Air Traffic Controller technical training is preferred.
  • Experience with aircraft command and control techniques and knowledge of applicable air traffic control rules and regulations is preferred.
  • An understanding of airspace management and range operations is preferable.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Ability to work overtime when requested is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with successful completion of drug screening.
  • The candidate must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper United States Department of Defense-issued security clearance, which requires United States citizenship.
  • The candidate must receive the required United States Department of Defense-issued interim security clearance before employment and the start date.
  • The applicant must be capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds assisted by other employees.
  • The applicant must have close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Responsibilities
  • Provide aircraft control and airspace management support.
  • Provide safe and expeditious flow of air traffic in Restricted and Warning Areas.
  • Configure real-time command and control display systems to meet well-defined research, development, test, evaluation, and training event requirements.
  • Schedule and de-conflict Special Use Airspace and Warning Areas.
