Ramboll to deliver engineering services for hydrogen project. Ramboll has announced that it has been appointed to deliver Owner's Engineer services by Barrow Green Hydrogen Ltd, part of the Green Hydrogen Energy Company (GHECO) portfolio - a joint venture between Schroders Greencoat and Carlton Power. The Barrow project is one of the earliest and largest awarded under the UK Government's first Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1) to reach a final investment decision, and will supply green hydrogen to Kimberly Clark's manufacturing site. The progress of the industry leading Barrow project represents a major step forward for the UK's hydrogen sector and its transition to a low carbon energy system. When operational, this supply of green hydrogen is expected to reduce natural gas consumption on the site by up to 50% and reduce CO[2] emissions by approximately 18 300 tpy. Ramboll has been working on the project since 2024 and moving forwards will be providing technical and programme assurance through detailed engineering, installation and commissioning. This will include contract administration, design and interface coordination, chairing Hazard and Operability studies, multidisciplinary technical reviews, and providing site support at key milestones. Stephen Horrax, Director for Business Area, Energy, UK & Ireland, said: "We are pleased to continue our support for the Barrow project and our wider collaboration with GHECO across its HAR1 developments. Being selected for these projects reflects the confidence our clients place in Ramboll's ability to deliver complex energy infrastructure and reinforces our role in supporting some of the UK's most important hydrogen and energy transition investments. Working closely with our clients, we are helping to transform ambitious plans into deliverable projects." Embed article link: (copy the HTML code below):

Denmark's largest consulting engineering company, Ramboll, is saying goodbye to both chief financial officer Eva Kienle and chief operating officer Michael Simmelsgaard.
