Requirements
  • Experience as a data cable technician with CAT5e, fiber optic, and network experience.
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions to complete the job.
  • Willingness to work on-call, early morning, day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
  • Ability to travel regionally within a 2 to 4 hour radius daily, with occasional longer travel and extended travel away from home.
  • Experience in low voltage cabling, smart hands network replacement, telephony, CCTV, and point-of-sale equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of identifying independent colors and learning color codes.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces.
  • Ability to operate a boom or scissor lift and work at heights.
  • Basic telecommunication tools, personal protective equipment, and reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various cabling infrastructure.
  • Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and performing limited conduit work.
  • Tie and bundle cables neatly according to safety regulations.
  • Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
  • Conduct tests to ensure newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the cable network.
Desired Qualifications
  • Industry-specific certifications such as BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Belden, or Corning.
  • Experience in low voltage cabling, smart hands network replacement, telephony, CCTV, and point-of-sale equipment.
  • Experience in conduit installation.
