  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and benefits experience is an asset

  • Good communication skills with bilingual language background (English/Chinese) preferred
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for 800+ salaried employees - changes, new hires, terminations, overtime sheets, garnishments, ROE and vacation pay, etc. Process manual / off-cycle pay as required
  • Process journal entries
  • Review payroll entries to ensure accuracy and where there are discrepancies, investigate and process adjustments
  • Reconcile and audit all payroll entries and participate in external and internal audit process
  • Government reconciliations including monthly reconciliations of employee benefits deductions and monthly insurance
  • Conduct enrollment and eligibility administration including application process, status changes, coordination of benefits, and reporting
  • Track taxable rewards and recognition
  • Year-end procedures, reversals and reporting, verification and distribution of T4's and T4A's, preparation of T4 summary, EHT summary
  • Processing benefits on a regular basis. Managing group insurance enrollment, termination, and information update; managing the payment of group insurance and RRSP contribution. Liaising with Benefits providers when needed
  • Calculate monthly WSIB premium and remittance. Year-ending WSIB reporting
  • Provide payroll/compensation related management reporting (e.g., overtime, vacation/sick/personal accrual), produce ad hoc reports as requested
  • Manage Expatriates' payroll and taxation
