Requirements
  • Requires a graduate degree from an accredited Pharmacy School approved by a state board of Pharmacy or accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
  • Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted Pharmacist License free from any pending adverse actions and the ability to be favorably credentialed by Acuity policy.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a registered practicing pharmacist.
  • All Healthcare Providers and medical support staff must have a recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.
  • Experience in both Hospital and Ambulatory Pharmacy, and expertise in both outpatient and inpatient drug therapies.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
  • Must have a valid U.S. passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
  • Requires a favorably adjudicated CNACI investigation conducted by the Department of Defense.
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
Responsibilities
  • Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Pharmacist to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
  • Fills prescriptions, verifying instructions from physicians on the proper amounts of medication to be given.
  • Checks for patient drug contraindications.
  • Responsible for verifying the dosage regimen for accuracy and specified amount is within the standard dosing range and frequency.
  • Compounds and dispenses medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas.
  • Ensures prescriptions are filled accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provides medication information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Participates in medical care conferences as directed by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
  • Maintains the security of controlled substances as well as an accurate log of dispensation, waste, etc.
  • Maintains adequate stock levels of medications that are high-use (utilization-based) to include key medications for unforeseen events such as outbreaks.
  • Develops a re-supply system with the senior logistician that ensures critical use (must have) medications are readily available throughout the medical footprint supported.
  • Once the prescription is filled, file the prescription.
  • Oversees the work of pharmacy technicians.
  • Performs administrative functions such as answering phones and stocking shelves.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols and the Privacy Act.
  • Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
