Requirements
  • Training in social work or legal studies.
  • Experience working with people experiencing severe precarity and thorough knowledge of immigration law and social protection.
  • Strong adaptability and autonomy.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and knowledge-transmission skills.
  • Ability to train and support others pedagogically.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Strong interest in health-related issues and challenges.
  • Proficiency in conducting individual interviews and assessments.
  • Proficiency in distancing techniques.
  • Ability to write summary notes and documents related to the area of expertise.
  • Good knowledge of office tools, including Word, Excel, and the internet.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French.
  • Driving licence B.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Ability to undergo background checks against international lists and provide a French criminal-record extract (B3) if recruited.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in outreach activities.
  • Support volunteers in the overall follow-up of people seen in consultations or outreach, including complex cases, and assist them with health-related procedures.
  • Manage individual follow-up for patients with complex situations and provide referrals or in-person accompaniment to medico-social services when necessary.
  • Coordinate care and access-to-rights pathways with volunteer teams and partners, and organize active caseload monitoring.
  • Identify relevant structures, inform and refer people to them, and help resolve access barriers.
  • Help patients develop autonomy in their health pathways.
  • Promote and organize collective prevention, health-education, and health-system activities with the health mediator.
  • Train and support volunteers in becoming autonomous on health rights, immigration law, legislation, helping relationships, health mediation, and knowledge of the populations served.
  • Create tools for partners to improve consideration of precarious workers' living and working conditions and their access to the health system.
  • Develop tools to improve the quality of follow-up and referrals.
  • Support teams in identifying and referring sensitive situations within patients' care pathways.
  • Participate in facilitating volunteer team meetings and working groups.
  • Monitor laws and their implementation practices, especially regarding health insurance access, immigration law, and PASS.
  • Collect and analyze data on access to state medical assistance and healthcare, and ensure the quality of quantitative and qualitative data collection for the observatory and annual report.
  • Help define and implement the program's advocacy strategy, particularly on health-rights access, and represent the organization before relevant local stakeholders.
  • Identify and maintain a network of local nonprofit and institutional partners.
  • Participate in synthesis and coordination meetings with partners and represent Médecins du Monde in local coalitions.
  • Contribute to testimonies concerning access to healthcare and rights.
  • Write the social-services chapter of the annual activity report.
  • Participate in program and delegation reflection workshops.
  • Occasionally participate in events organized by the delegation.
