Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalency and at least two years of relevant work experience with the New York City Department of Homeless Services or another similar city-operated organization.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial vocational assessments for new clients and make service recommendations for inclusion in the Independent Living Plan.
  • Perform ongoing comprehensive vocational assessments and recommend training and employment goals for inclusion in the Independent Living Plan.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group counseling to clients pursuing employment as part of the permanency plan.
  • Record client progress or lack of progress toward Independent Living Plan vocational goals in charts.
  • Collaborate as an integral member of the multidisciplinary intensive case-management team and communicate information in case conferences and reviews.
  • Deliver weekly informational vocational seminars to clients.
  • Refer clients to potential employment options and companies.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
