Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Health Care Administration or related field is required with expertise in finance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of diverse experience in higher education or in a medical center environment, accounting, budgeting, financial management, strategic planning, sponsored projects, operations, human resources, and administration. The ADFA will collaborate with others to exceed organizational goals and objectives. Other preferred qualifications include:
1. At least ten years of progressive management-level/supervisory experience in finance and administration, preferably in an academic medical center managing an academic department, college, or a large and complex business unit with significant budget.
2. Demonstrated experience working with large, highly structured personnel systems. Proven ability to motivate and manage teams, build, and negotiate strategic relationships, and work with broad constituency. Must be able to prioritize, make and implement decisions in a timely manner. Provide support and advice to leadership and all constituencies on matters related to ADFA primary responsibilities.
3. Proven success of leading data-driven projects and building teams focused on strategic goals and customer service.
4. Demonstrated experience in accounting practice, managerial finance, budgeting and business planning, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
5. Experience working with WorkDay, Axiom, Harmony, and other financial and administrative software systems in a large organization.
6. Experience with clinical group practice operations and financial management, preferably in an academic and/or medical center environment.
7. High “EQ”, interpersonal and negotiations skills.
Job Duties:
Strategic Fiscal and Budgetary Management (35%):Lead the development and execution of the College’s financial strategy. Oversee the entire fiscal and budgetary process, ensuring alignment with the College’s strategic goals. Identify and integrate new revenue streams and sustainable practice opportunities to enhance financial stability and growth.
Revenue Generation and Business Development (20%):Drive revenue generation initiatives to support the College’s mission. Negotiate high-value contracts with external agencies and collaborate with faculty leaders to develop innovative proposals and pro formas for new business opportunities. Champion sustainable practice initiatives that contribute to the College’s financial health.
Executive Human Resource and Procurement Oversight (10%):Provide strategic direction for the human resource function and procurement activities, emphasizing sustainability and efficiency in workforce management and resource allocation. Develop policies and practices that support the College’s mission and values.
Advanced Financial Information Systems (10%):Lead the adoption and enhancement of financial information systems to support college operations. Ensure the systems are aligned with best practices in sustainable financial management and provide robust support for decision-making processes.
University Liaison and Advocacy (10%):Serve as the primary liaison with University finance, Human Resources, and administration officials. Advocate for policies and practices that promote the College’s financial sustainability and strategic goals.
Comprehensive Fiscal Forecasting and Financial Modeling (10%):Provide advanced fiscal forecasting and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making. Ensure long-term sustainability and growth by considering all aspects of the College’s missions and strategic priorities.
Senior Staff and Administrative Management (5%):Supervise the Director of Finance and provide strategic guidance for team leadership. Foster a culture of sustainability, innovation, and excellence within the Finance and Administration team.
