Aperia Technologies makes tire pressure management systems for freight trucking. Its Halo Tire Inflator is a hub-mounted unit that automatically inflates or deflates tires to keep them at the correct pressure while the vehicle is in operation. The system bolts onto the wheel hub in minutes and uses wheel rotation to monitor and adjust tire pressure without manual checks. Its focus on cost efficiency and sustainability sets it apart, highlighting tangible CO2 savings per dollar spent and benefits like lower maintenance costs and less downtime. The goal is to help fleets reduce operational costs, maximize uptime, and lessen environmental impact by keeping tires properly inflated.

Aperia and Fontaine partner to integrate fifth wheel lock data into Halo Connect fleet management platform

Aperia Technologies has partnered with Fontaine Fifth Wheel to integrate SmartConnect fifth wheel data into its Halo Connect fleet management platform. The collaboration will provide real-time visibility of tractor-trailer connection safety information directly within Aperia's existing suite of portals and mobile applications. Fontaine's SmartConnect monitors fifth wheel lock position and confirms secure coupling between tractors and trailers. Through the integration, Halo Connect will receive signals from the SmartConnect controller and display coupling status within the Halo Drive app that drivers already use for tyre health monitoring. The companies plan to commercialise this integration with leading fleets during 2026. By centralising fifth wheel lock status alongside tyre intelligence and predictive analytics, the partnership eliminates the need for fleets to deploy additional applications or interfaces.

Aperia launches Halo automatic tire inflation system for steer tires on commercial trucks

Aperia Technologies has launched the Halo automatic tyre inflation system for steer tyres, completing coverage of all wheel positions on commercial trucks and trailers. The system represents the company's first inflator engineered specifically for steer tyres, which are considered the most safety-critical wheel position as they control vehicle direction. The system continuously maintains optimal tyre pressure whilst Aperia's Halo Connect platform collects tyre health data and provides early warning leak alerts. By combining inflation and intelligence, Halo delivers comprehensive tyre health management for entire vehicles under a single solution. Aperia Technologies is a leader in intelligent tyre management solutions for commercial fleets. The company's self-powered, connected system aims to eliminate common tyre safety issues, maximise uptime and reduce costs across all wheel positions.

Aperia extends Halo automatic inflation to steer tires.

Aperia extends Halo automatic inflation to steer tires. Technology now covers all wheel positions on commercial trucks and trailers. Managing Editor, Features and Multimedia Aperia's Ralph Dimenna announces that the company is extending its automatic inflation technology to steer tires during a March 16 press briefing at TMC. (Seth Clevenger/Transport Topics) March 17, 2026 8:55 AM, EDT Key takeaways: NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Aperia Technologies has introduced a steer-tire version of its Halo automatic tire inflation system. By adapting the self-powered Halo device to install on steer axles and hubs, Aperia's tire inflation technology now covers all wheel positions on commercial trucks and trailers. Like other Halo devices, the steer-tire inflator uses the rotational energy of the wheel to automatically pump air into the tire and continuously maintain optimal pressure. Aperia made the announcement during a March 16 press briefing at the Technology & Maintenance Council's 2026 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition. Ensuring that steer tires always remain properly inflated is crucial for safety because a steer tire failure can result in loss of vehicle control, said Ralph Dimenna, Aperia's chief commercial officer. "This is the most safety-critical wheel position," he said. "We're protecting drivers, we're protecting your equipment, we're protecting freight and we're protecting the public." Aperia showcases its Halo automatic inflation technology installed on the steer tires of a Foodliner tractor. (Seth Clevenger/Transport Topics) The new steer inflation product also integrates with Aperia's Halo Connect intelligent tire management platform. The technology provides drivers and fleets with predictive leak alerts, diagnostics and tread and temperature monitoring so they can address tire issues before they cause roadside events, vehicle downtime or safety incidents. Halo for steer tires marks the latest expansion of Aperia's tire inflation technology, which can now provide automatic inflation for all 18 wheels of a tractor-trailer, or all 10 in the case of wide-base tires. "We've got a system now that works on every single wheel position on the rig," Dimenna said. Halo for steer tires will be available in the fourth quarter, he said. At its booth in the TMC exhibit hall, Aperia showcased its new steer-tire Halo devices installed on a Foodliner tractor. Dubuque, Iowa-based Foodliner and its sister company Quest Liner rank No. 70 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America.

Aperia launches Nearby Issues feature for Halo Connect tire management platform

Aperia launches Nearby Issues feature for Halo Connect tire management platform. The feature uses a technician's real-time location to display trucks nearby with tire issues through the Halo Tech App Aperia Technologies has launched Nearby Issues, a location-based feature on its Halo Connect tire management platform. Available through the Halo Tech App, the tool uses a technician's real-time location to display trucks nearby with tire issues, enabling technicians to quickly identify vehicles and tires requiring attention. The feature allows technicians to view all vehicles nearby with tire issues instantly, access a ranked list of trucks based on issue severity and count, and connect over Bluetooth to view real-time tire pressures and confirm completed repairs. Users can access detailed issue data, review tire health history and see a vehicle's exact location through the system. "Technicians don't need more alerts; they need the right insights at the right time," Ralph Dimenna, Chief Commercial Officer at Aperia Technologies, said. "Nearby Issues gives them a faster, smarter way to prioritise and resolve tire problems based on where they are, closing the gap between knowing an issue exists and getting it fixed." The tool includes an interactive map with GPS positioning and severity-based colour coding for navigation. Access is controlled and available only to authenticated users physically near the vehicle. Technicians already have access to tire issue information through Halo Connect, but the company says Nearby Issues advances convenience and efficiency by turning insight into immediate, location-based action. Aperia Technologies says the addition of Nearby Issues to the Halo Connect platform supports its mission to help fleets maintain proactive operations, reduce maintenance costs and maximise vehicle uptime.
