Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience applying and utilizing AI-assisted tools and workflows such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code for design, coding, test generation, and documentation.
  • At least 8 years of professional software development experience with current, daily hands-on coding and prototyping in modern technology stacks.
  • At least 5 years of experience building cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven systems with Azure or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in technology stacks such as Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, React, and Vue.
  • Proven experience owning end-to-end solution delivery, including design, implementation, and post-release operational accountability for medium-to-large projects.
  • Experience building production code, prototypes, and reference implementations to validate solution feasibility.
  • Strong experience with REST, OpenAPI, messaging platforms, and relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and NoSQL.
  • Hands-on proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, deployment tooling, automated testing, and AI/agentic workflows.
  • Practical experience with generative artificial intelligence and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor, with measurable impact on delivery.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, present technical solutions, and collaborate across business and engineering teams.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring engineers, conducting thorough code reviews, and championing engineering best practices across teams.
Responsibilities
  • Instrument and leverage AI/agentic workflows in daily development to accelerate design, prototyping, code generation, test-case creation, specification drafting, and automated validation across the software lifecycle.
  • Apply AI-assisted development practices, model best practices for the team, and ensure ethical compliance and responsible integration of generative AI tools.
  • Own end-to-end solution delivery across Discovery and Delivery Tracks by personally building validated prototypes, contributing to formal designs, decomposing work into deliverables, and shipping accepted technical implementations.
  • Drive the Discovery Track under Dual-Track Agile by writing working prototypes and demonstrating solutions to validate feasibility and align stakeholders before full implementation.
  • Translate discovery outcomes into delivery backlog items and partner with implementation teams to preserve design intent, code quality standards, and non-functional requirements throughout delivery.
  • Contribute to technical design across products and integrations by producing architecture decision records, interface contracts, data models, sequencing diagrams, migration and rollback plans, and traceability matrices.
  • Serve as the primary technical lead in client engagements by facilitating workshops, presenting technical solutions, making trade-off decisions, driving approvals, and acting as a subject-matter expert for assigned platform areas.
  • Personally implement critical components and complex features in modern retail platform stacks, set code-quality standards through personal work, and review and approve implementation-team deliverables.
  • Apply and reinforce engineering standards, reusable integration patterns, and non-functional requirements covering security, scalability, and observability across client solutions.
  • Mentor and upskill engineers on AI-assisted development, Dual-Track workflows, specification-driven design, and platform best practices through pair programming, code reviews, and example-driven leadership.
  • Contribute to platform and product strategy by identifying reusable assets, API-first designs, and technical gaps requiring investment.
  • Own risk analysis and mitigation for technical decisions, including backward compatibility, data integrity, and compliance constraints.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong retail platform domain knowledge, including point-of-sale systems and store operations.
  • Certifications such as Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud credentials.
  • Strong understanding of advanced security best practices and compliance requirements in enterprise systems.
  • Experience leading Dual-Track Agile processes, managing Discovery and Delivery Tracks, and translating discovery outcomes into actionable backlog items.
  • Experience contributing to platform strategy, reusable assets, and API-first designs.
  • Expertise in formal or machine-readable specifications such as OpenAPI, UML with Object Constraint Language, TLA+, or equivalent approaches to guide implementation and enable automated validation.
