Experience
Requirements
  • A bachelor's (undergraduate) degree is required.
  • You’re mission-driven.
  • You’re a detail-oriented problem solver.
  • You’re great on the phone (and love it).
  • You’re a self-starter with a sharp eye for detail.
  • You’re resourceful and innovative.
Responsibilities
  • Growing our medicine donor base: Identify and expand new sources of surplus medicine by exploring industries such as retail, closed-door pharmacies, and health facilities like nursing homes. You will manage project timelines, conduct market research, schedule outreach, make calls, and oversee follow-up communications to build relationships and drive donor growth.
  • Supporting our existing medicine donor community: Engage with the community of nurses, pharmacists, technicians, administrators, and directors actively donating surplus medicines. This includes troubleshooting issues, answering questions via emails, texts, and calls, and creating new initiatives to highlight the impact of their contributions on families’ lives while sharing these stories with the donor community.
  • Leading special projects: Take ownership of high-impact initiatives, such as piloting innovative redistribution methods (e.g. surplus chemotherapy and other oncology medications). You will coordinate logistics, including calls, shipping, and manifests, ensuring smooth execution of these efforts.

SIRUM focuses on drug donation and redistribution to help individuals who cannot afford medications. The company collects unused, surplus medications from health facilities and pharmacies, ensuring compliance with national drug donation laws and providing liability protection to donors. Medications are boxed up and picked up by FedEx, then redistributed to partner organizations that dispense them to those in need. This process not only minimizes medical waste but also improves access to essential medications for underserved populations. SIRUM differentiates itself by its commitment to making medication accessible while also addressing the issue of medical waste. The goal is to save lives by ensuring that unused medications reach those who need them most.
