Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Act as Manager on Duty, lead by example, set the standard, and create a strong leadership presence by following and modeling Burlington standard operating procedures.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar sales volume and expense budgets, including reviewing associated reporting and record-keeping.
  • Recruit, screen, and hire associates to meet store staffing needs.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training for new associates, provide ongoing coaching in the moment, and implement structured learning and development activities for all team members.
  • Handle personnel and associate relations issues.
  • Manage the payroll budget, workforce management, and scheduling.
  • Facilitate effective communication and partnerships among the store team, district and regional management teams, and other company partners.
  • Manage all store operations tasks to maximize sales results.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day merchandising, operations, and service management tasks.
  • Be responsible for the overall success of the store location and the associates on the team.

Burlington leads discount retailers with 14th straight quarter of double-digit EPS growth, up 26%

Burlington Stores reported first-quarter revenues of $2.86 billion, up 14.1% year-on-year and exceeding analysts' expectations by 2.7%. The off-price retailer, which sells general apparel, footwear, and home goods, also beat EBITDA estimates and provided strong EPS guidance for the next quarter. Chief executive Michael O'Sullivan highlighted the company's 14th consecutive quarter of double-digit EPS growth, with adjusted EPS rising 26% compared to the first quarter last year. He emphasised the company's ability to consistently convert sales into operating margin expansion. The stock has risen 8.4% since the earnings announcement. Burlington was amongst five discount retailer stocks analysed for the quarter, a group that collectively beat revenue estimates by 3.3%.

Burlington to open new DuBois store Aug. 14. DuBOIS - Burlington Stores will expand its presence in Pennsylvania later this month with the opening of a new location in DuBois. The off-price retailer will open its doors Friday, Aug. 14, at The Commons, 190 Commons Drive. The store will be Burlington's 44th location in Pennsylvania and is part of the company's nationwide expansion plan, which includes opening 110 new stores in 2026. Company officials said the DuBois location features Burlington's redesigned store format, which includes wider aisles, updated signage and a more organized layout intended to make shopping easier. More than half of Burlington's existing stores have already been converted to the new format, with the remaining locations expected to transition by the end of the year. "Delivering incredible value on brand-name and on-trend merchandise is at the heart of what we do," Burlington Stores Chief Executive Officer Michael O'Sullivan said. "Opening a new, modernized store in DuBois is an exciting step for us as we continue expanding Burlington locations nationwide. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to explore great savings, find fresh brands, and experience our new and improved store design." The DuBois store will offer merchandise across a variety of departments, including women's, men's and children's apparel, footwear, beauty products, home décor, baby items, pet supplies and toys. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the grand opening on Aug. 14. Following the ceremony on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14-15, the first 100 customers ages 18 and older each day will receive a $10 bonus card to use toward a purchase. As part of the grand opening celebration, Burlington will donate $5,000 to a local school through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. The donation will help provide classroom supplies and educational materials, with the presentation taking place during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The company is also hiring for a variety of positions as it continues to expand. Job opportunities are available online. The DuBois store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Headquartered in New Jersey, Burlington Stores operates more than 1,200 locations in 47 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Discounters scoop up Houston retail. HOUSTON - (Realty News Report) - Discount stores including Nordstrom Rack, Burlington, HomeGoods, and dd's Discounts are scooping up vacant retail spaces as they expand in the Houston market. Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of Nordstrom with five locations in Houston, will take over a former Bed, Bath & Beyond in Katy next year. Work will begin to build out a nearly 38,000-SF store at 24600 Katy Freeway in the Shoppes at Park West in January, according to a filing with TDLR. Completion is planned in August. Nordstrom Rack, which has 27 stores in Texas, offers a mix of apparel, accessories, beauty products, home décor, and shoes at prices up to 70% off. A McAllen location is expected to open this fall. The expansions come as retailers are projected to open about 5,500 stores nationwide this year, up about 4.4% over 2025 with discounters contributing to the gains, according to Coresight Research. Houston's retail occupancy held steady at 95.2% at midyear as discount stores, gyms, bookstores, and other retailers backfilled vacancies, according to the Weitzman commercial real estate firm. In Sugar Land, Burlington will fill the former Sugar Land location of Saks Off 5th, the off-price brand that closed stores as part of Saks Global's bankruptcy. Burlington will start work on a 25,000-SF store in September, with completion planned in March of 2027, according to a filing with TDLR. Burlington, which has expanded to more than 45 stores in the Houston area, offers apparel, beauty products, shoes, accessories, and home décor at up to 60% off, according to the company. In Meyerland Plaza, HomeGoods is building out a 33,689-SF space at the former Joann fabric store, according to a TDLR filing. The work is expected to start in November and wrap up in March of 2027. The off-price retail chain is a sister company to Marshalls, which also operate at Meyerland. Hobby Lobby is building out a store in Meyerland's long vacant Palais Royal. Across from Reliant Stadium, dd's Discounts, a division of Ross Stores, will open a new store as part of a national expansion. It will be the retailer's second store inside Loop 610, joining another at 6830 Harrisburg Blvd. in the East End. The build out of the 25,000-SF store at 8202 Kirby Drive will begin in late September, according to a filing with TDLR. Completion is planned in late January 2027. The new dd's Discounts lease brings another discounter to the Shops at three Corners, a Fiesta grocery store anchored property of Kimco Realty near Old Spanish Trail and Kirby Drive. Ross Dress for Less, a sister store to dd's Discounts, also operates in the center. The store will take over the former Office Depot space adjacent to Burlington, which occupies the former Big Lots spot. Ross Stores is on track to open 110 stores this year, including 85 Ross Dress for Less stores and 25 dd's Discounts, according to the company. dd's Discounts, which sells clothing, shoes, home merchandise, and toys for up to 70% off, has been expanding in Texas, California, Florida, North Carolina, and other markets. dd's Discounts has 365 stores in 23 states, including 20 in the Houston area. Marshalls, a division of the TJX Companies with 1,265 stores nationwide, will take over another former Big Lots in the Heights area. A 25,315-SF store is planned in the Merchants Park center at 919 N. Shepherd Drive, according to a TDLR filing. Primark, a discount fashion retailer founded in Ireland, has filled two empty malls spots in its U.S. expansion. Primark opened its second Houston area store in July. The 30,000-SF store occupies a portion of a former Sears store in Willowbrook Mall. The first location opened at Katy Mills Mall last year. Burlington opens 12 stores across US and Puerto Rico in August expansion push

Burlington is opening 12 stores across eight US states and Puerto Rico in August as part of its expansion to over 1,000 locations. The company plans to open more than 100 stores by the end of 2026. CEO Michael O'Sullivan said the new stores will feature an improved store design. "Delivering incredible value on brand-name and on-trend merchandise is at the heart of what we do," he stated. The August openings include locations in Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, Arizona, New York, and Puerto Rico. Stores will open on 6 August, 13 August, 20 August, and 27 August. Burlington also broke ground on a two-million-square-foot distribution centre near Phoenix in April, set to open in 2028.
