Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional work experience in the games industry as a Technical Artist with a focus on environments, OR as an Environment Artist with a strong technical leaning
  • Experience working with modern game engines (familiarity with Unreal Engine is strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scripting (preferably in Blueprints)
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling toolkits (e.g. Maya, Blender, 3Ds Max, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of environment modeling, texturing, lighting, and composition
  • Experience with procedural tools and workflows (e.g. Substance Designer, Houdini, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of optimization techniques for real-time environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience working in Unreal Engine 5
  • Experience in real-time visual effects with either Niagara in Unreal or VFX Graph in Unity
  • Proficiency in Python, C# or C++

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with artists and designers to create visually stunning and optimized environments that align with the creative vision of the game
  • Develop and maintain procedural tools and workflows to streamline environment creation and increase productivity
  • Optimize assets and environments for performance without compromising visual quality
  • Implement and iterate on lighting, shaders, materials, and post-processing effects to achieve desired visual aesthetics
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to environment art and contribute to the overall technical art pipeline
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of assets into the game engine
