Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 6 months of sales experience is required, preferably in a call center, retail, membership, or customer-focused environment.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants must be able to type at least 25 words per minute.
  • Applicants must be able to navigate multiple software applications, systems, and sales tools simultaneously.
  • Applicants must be comfortable using desktop computer systems and have general knowledge of Windows-based systems.
  • Applicants must provide a dedicated workspace near the router that supports a hardwired Ethernet connection with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload and an internet service provider latency under 50 milliseconds.
  • Internet connections using satellite, mobile data hotspots, peer-to-peer networks, or virtual private networks are not permitted.
  • Proof of internet speed is required.
Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound and outbound customer interactions professionally, build rapport, and identify customer needs through effective discovery techniques.
  • Present and promote products, services, and membership benefits while tailoring recommendations to each customer's situation.
  • Identify potential retention opportunities by educating members on membership benefits, services, and available solutions.
  • Apply consultative retention strategies to preserve memberships and strengthen long-term customer loyalty.
  • Attempt to resolve and de-escalate issues calmly.
  • Escalate interactions when necessary and appropriate.
  • Educate customers on available plans, coverage options, features, and value-added services.
  • Track all call-related information for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Participate in coaching sessions, sales training, team meetings, potential client calls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals, conversion targets, revenue objectives, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize customer value and business growth.
  • Process sales transactions, service enrollments, and payment arrangements accurately.
  • Address customer questions, objections, and concerns while providing clear and persuasive offers with an additional rebuttal when appropriate.
  • Upsell on every call.

  • A college degree is preferred but not required.

Nigerian Tiktok Content Moderator Found Dead In Nairobi

A Nigerian national working as a TikTok content moderator for Teleperformance Kenya was found dead in her apartment in Nairobi. The deceased, identified as Ladi Anzaki Olubunmi, had reportedly been missing from work for three days before her colleagues raised concerns, leading to the discovery of her body on March 7, 2025 at her apart at Studio 103 in Lower Kabete, Nairobi.Olubunmi, who had been working in Kenya for over two years, was allegedly struggling with work-related stress and had expressed a strong desire to return home to Nigeria. Reports indicate that she faced difficulties obtaining the necessary travel permits, preventing her from visiting her family for an extended period.Teleperformance Kenya, the outsourcing firm contracted to moderate content for TikTok, has denied allegations that Olubunmi was denied leave. In an official statement, the company termed the claims as “baseless and untrue.” The firm also refuted accusations that employees lacked proper work permits that restricted their ability to travel home.Following Olubunmi’s tragic death, her family is now facing financial constraints in repatriating her body to Nigeria. With the high costs involved, they are reportedly considering the possibility of laying her to rest in Nairobi. The demand for voice and speech recognition technologies is massive — and growing. An analysis by market research firm Markets and Markets found that the sector could be worth over $28.1 billion by 2027. There’s no shortage of vendors providing voice and speech recognition solutions, but some newer upstarts have managed to carve out niches. Sanas is a good example.
