Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business-to-business sales, with a demonstrated track record of managing or growing a book of business generating more than $2 million in annual services revenue.
  • Experience managing customer relationships or assigned accounts in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills, including the ability to engage engineers, procurement, and management stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including meeting notes and follow-up emails.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Comfort using customer relationship management and productivity tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot, Excel, PowerPoint, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
  • Interest in learning complex technical concepts related to engineering design services.
  • Willingness to use artificial intelligence as part of day-to-day operations to improve efficiency and output quality.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned accounts within the territory, acting as a primary point of contact in partnership with the Business Development Manager.
  • Execute structured account touch plans through email, calls, LinkedIn, and events to increase contact coverage, build relationships, and maintain awareness of Fidus.
  • Support pipeline creation by qualifying inbound leads, following up on marketing campaigns, and booking discovery meetings for the Business Development Manager.
  • Participate in discovery and technical scoping calls, capturing customer requirements and documenting next steps and actions.
  • Collaborate internally with engineering, project management, pre-sales, and marketing to gather information, build presentations, and respond to proposals and requests for proposals.
  • Track account activity, contacts, opportunities, and tasks in the customer relationship management system with high data quality and discipline.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction on active projects, help identify issues early, and route them to the appropriate internal owner for resolution.
  • Identify expansion opportunities, including new projects, new business units, and cross-selling additional Fidus capabilities, and bring them to the Business Development Manager for strategy and closure.
  • Contribute to account plans, account mapping, and territory reviews, including revenue and activity reporting.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of Fidus services, target industries such as aerospace and defense, medical technology, and semiconductors, and the competitive landscape.
  • Travel periodically within the assigned territory to visit accounts in person.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience selling engineering or design services, including turnkey design services and onshore outsourced staffing services for high-speed, high-complexity designs.
  • A background selling information technology services through time-and-materials or project-based delivery models.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical/commerce hybrid program.

Stan Lequin appointed CEO of Fidus Systems to drive growth and AI transformation

Fidus Systems, a provider of electronic and embedded system design services, has appointed Stan Lequin as chief executive officer, effective 6 April 2026. He succeeds Alan Coady, who has led the company since January 2018 and will remain on the board as vice chairman. Lequin brings 30 years of experience in professional services. Most recently, he served as chief technology officer of AI transformation at Insight Enterprises, where he led the firm's "AI First" transformation. He previously founded Ensynch, a Microsoft consultancy that Insight acquired in 2011. Ottawa-based Fidus employs over 135 people across three North American offices and serves more than 500 customers in sectors including semiconductors, aerospace and defence, and medical devices. The company is owned by New York private equity firm Catchment Capital.
