- A BA/BS degree in geography, remote sensing, engineering, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related field is required.

- Develop requirements for new and existing GIS solutions.
- Provide graphic representations of measurement-facility ocean-related data.
- Discover patterns and trends through spatial mapping.
- Develop mapping applications and tools.
- Manage a digital library of geographic maps in various file types.
- Serve as a technical point of contact to others.
- Provide detailed seabed mapping information using a GIS relational database that integrates existing and new data.
- Provide direct support to analysts and engineers developing systems to acquire surface and subsurface ocean sensor data for monitoring the underwater ocean environment.
- Job experience with the Navy or other Department of Defense laboratories is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic physical oceanographic principles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of and experience with MATLAB, spreadsheets, statistical databases, and Structured Query Language are preferred.
- Ability to utilize GIS data for asset management is desirable.
- Occasional travel to other Navy sites may be required.
