Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Google and Windows environments, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, is required.
  • Prior knowledge of family planning services and/or reproductive health care is required.
  • The ability to sit and answer phone calls for extended periods is required.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • The ability to provide or support the provision of objective information about abortion, adoption, and parenting options in the event of an unintended pregnancy is required.
  • A professional, compassionate, sensitive, and nonjudgmental demeanor is required.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments according to protocol for all PPSE health services.
  • Provide clients with pre-appointment instructions and direct them to the PPSE website to download appropriate forms.
  • Ensure scheduled appointments align with clinic and provider availability.
  • Provide patients with education and counseling regarding services and care options.
  • Screen callers for eligibility to receive abortion services under state and federal laws and provide Georgia's state-required 24-hour notice and parental notice information for abortion appointments.
  • Determine and discuss client accommodation needs, including interpreters and accessible examination tables for people with disabilities.
  • Assist clients in assessing their need for financial assistance and accessing assistance when eligible.
  • Provide information within department policies, protocols, and state and federal law.
  • Handle high-volume customer calls with sensitivity, professionalism, and quality.
  • Accurately enter patient data into the NextGen system.
  • Screen and direct callers requiring immediate medical assistance.
  • Handle complaints calmly and professionally, refer unresolved complaints to a supervisor or Health Center Manager, and record complaints on the appropriate forms.
  • Provide information about all services and offer referrals when appropriate.
  • Collect required daily data and calculate statistics as requested.
  • Complete medical-record documentation when providing relevant clinical information.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two or more years of healthcare and/or customer service experience are preferred.
  • College or other post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills are preferred.
