Wintermute launches US broker-dealer with SEC and FINRA registration for regulated markets

Wintermute has registered its US affiliate, Wintermute USA LLC, as a broker-dealer with the SEC and FINRA, marking its formal entry into regulated US markets. The registration allows the firm to trade equities and equity options, act as an Authorized Participant for exchange-traded products including those tied to digital assets, and self-clear digital asset securities transactions for its own proprietary account. The New York-based entity will focus exclusively on proprietary trading and ETP services. Globally, the Wintermute group facilitates over $10 billion in average daily trading volume across more than 60 centralised and decentralised exchanges. CEO Evgeny Gaevoy said the move positions the firm for the emerging tokenised securities landscape, as digital assets and traditional finance continue to develop in parallel and integrate more deeply.

Wintermute has obtained a brokerage license in the U.S. 06 Aug, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials Wintermute has registered its U.S. office as a broker-dealer, obtaining oversight from FINRA and the SEC. This paves the way for the company to obtain official market-maker status on the NYSE and Nasdaq exchanges. It will start with crypto-related markets - commodities and digital asset ETFs - and then plans to enter the tokenized equity space if regulatory conditions permit. Wintermute USA has already attracted ETF issuers as clients and expects to compete with Jump Trading, Jane Street, and Citadel Securities within 3-5 years. Senate Majority Leader John Thune confirmed that the chamber is "delaying" the vote. The reason is insufficient support from Democrats, which is necessary to advance the bill. Negotiations are ongoing. Thune could seek cloture before the recess - a procedural move that would allow the vote to be scheduled for when senators return in mid-September; however, the actual vote on the bill would still not take place. Democrats refused to approve a time agreement that would have accelerated remaining business before the recess and brought the crypto legislation to a vote. Wintermute expands into U.S. Markets amid regulatory compliance.

Wintermute expands into U.S. Markets amid regulatory compliance. Wintermute's calculated leap into U.S. Trading. All right, picture this: Wintermute, the digital asset trading maestro, has decided it's game time in the U.S. They've jumped through the hoops and snagged approval from the big dogs - SEC and FINRA. They didn't just stroll in; they registered their affiliate, Wintermute USA LLC, as a full-on broker-dealer, aiming to flex their muscles in the regulated trading scene. A Strategic play on the board. What do Investors Hangout, LLC has on its hands? Well, it's not just some dip-your-toes situation; it's an ambitious dive into the heart of U.S. regulated markets. By establishing Wintermute USA LLC under a regulated banner, they're gearing up to stir the pot in traditional equities and equity options trading. They're cooked to become a conduit for exchange-traded products, especially those linked to digital assets. Now, that's a bold maneuver considering the emerging whirlwind of tokenized securities. The real success will come to those with the know-how to juggle tech finesse with tactical operation in both digital and traditional finance sectors. Evgeny Gaevoy, Wintermute's head honcho, is hedging his bets on digital and traditional finance learning to tango together, and he might just be on to something. Global strategies with local execution. Sitting pretty in New York, Wintermute USA has pulled together a dedicated team focused on staying ahead of market changes and regulatory nuances. Their global reputation speaks for itself - over $10 billion in average daily trading volume - and now, with U.S. registration under their belt, the stage's set for them to make some significant waves. * Strategic engagement with regulators and policy makers. * Continual investment in the U.S. market infrastructure. * Technical and operational ninja moves to bridge traditional and digital asset arenas. Cashing in on the tokenized future. All eyes are on the tokenized securities landscape. Wintermute's readiness to tackle this frontier marks their aspiration to not just ride the wave but steer it. They'll be trading for their own books, so there's none of that client money fuss - just raw, proprietary trading action. The focus? Self-clearing digital asset securities transactions, a solid nod to the emerging market structure that swaps tokenized securities and traditional asset systems. It's all about staying nimble, and Wintermute seems to have that covered by deftly managing operations across institutional realms. Looking ahead: risks and expectations. Of course, with every bold step come the what-ifs. Wintermute's journey carries its own set of uncertainties, just like any other venture dancing with the SEC and FINRA. Forward-looking statements are nice, but it's the uncertainties and real-world shake-ups that can throw curveballs. The numbers and hefty global trading figures are confidence boosters, yet they come wrapped in caveats. Even so, Wintermute's move is one to keep a close eye on. They're setting a foundation where only the seasoned players with enough grit and regulatory savvy will likely thrive. It's not just about expanding; it's about strategically leveraging their know-how and tech prowess over new terrains. CEO Evgeny Gaevoy mentioned, "Digital assets and traditional finance will continue to develop in parallel, intersect in new ways, and ultimately integrate more deeply." Investors should take this as a cue to pay attention to how these worlds collide. The message is clear: Wintermute is in it for the long game, keeping a pulse on how digital assets unfurl and weave into the conventional fabric of finance. A calculated move with risks worth the gamble, provided they've got the chops to juggle evolving landscapes.

B2C2 sale talks: why crypto market makers are in demand.

B2C2 sale talks: why crypto market makers are in demand. July 26, 2026 Crypto Daily general Positive B2C2, one of the most prominent institutional crypto market makers, is reportedly in active sale talks at a valuation exceeding $1 billion, with a potential $200 million capital raise highlighting surging demand for professional liquidity providers heading into 2026. The news arrives as Bitcoin BTC options open interest hits $5 billion, a milestone that underscores how rapidly derivatives markets are maturing and why deep-pocketed, technically sophisticated market makers have become indispensable infrastructure for crypto exchanges, DeFi protocols, and institutional trading desks. Crypto market making has transformed from a niche function into a high-stakes, capital-intensive business, and B2C2's reported sale process reflects how traditional finance acquirers and crypto-native investors are competing to control the liquidity layer of digital asset markets. The reported deal metrics place B2C2 among the most valuable privately held crypto infrastructure firms globally, alongside rivals such as Cumberland, Wintermute, and Jump Crypto, all of whom are navigating a regulatory environment that is simultaneously tightening and legitimizing institutional crypto trading. Robust liquidity provision is now a prerequisite for any exchange or token project seeking institutional adoption, making this acquisition story directly relevant to BTC price stability, ETH market depth, and the broader health of spot and derivatives trading conditions. Investors and market participants should watch for a formal announcement of the B2C2 transaction, as the acquirer's identity will signal which sector - traditional finance, crypto exchange, or asset management - is most aggressively positioning to own crypto liquidity infrastructure in the next market cycle. Reports of B2C2 sale talks and $5B BTC options OI put market makers center stage. A $1B+ valuation and a possible $200M raise highlight 2026 liquidity demand.

Streamex Corp. announces 24/7, 365 instant liquidity for GLDY through collaboration with Wintermute.

Streamex Corp. announces 24/7, 365 instant liquidity for GLDY through collaboration with Wintermute. Highlights * Buying or selling GLDY is now instant. With Wintermute acting as a continuous liquidity provider, both purchases and redemptions of GLDY now complete in real time, T+0. What previously took two business days now happens immediately, around the clock, 365 days a year. * GLDY now has approximately $12 million in secondary market liquidity across multiple avenues, available 24/7, 365. WINTER PARK, Fla., July 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Streamex Corp. ("Streamex" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: STEX), a technology company building the future of the commodity markets through tokenization, today announced that Wintermute, an independent third-party proprietary trading firm, has expanded liquidity for GLDY, the Company's gold-backed, yield-bearing tokenized security. Under the arrangement, eligible GLDY holders can now access instant third-party liquidity through our interface. Streamex has seeded 1,069 GLDY and $5,000,000 USDC with Wintermute, bringing total secondary market liquidity to approximately $12 million USD across multiple venues. The addition of Wintermute as a liquidity provider is designed to improve the GLDY investor experience. Previously, both the purchase and redemption process for GLDY settled on a T+2 basis, a two-business-day clearing cycle consistent with traditional securities markets. Now, both processes settle instantly at T+0. An investor who decides to buy or sell GLDY today does not wait, the transaction clears immediately, in real time, within approximately 10 bps of the spot gold market price, supported by institutional infrastructure, subject to market conditions, applicable liquidity limits, and the functionality of third-party blockchain infrastructure. For all investors, Wintermute's liquidity will be available directly through the Streamex platform, enabling purchases and redemptions to be executed natively within the Streamex application, streamlining the investor experience from discovery to settlement in a single interface. Combined with the Orca permissioned pool infrastructure, and tZero's ATS, GLDY's total secondary market liquidity now stands at approximately $12 million. Investors can access this liquidity on their own schedule, not during exchange hours, not subject to T+2 clearing, but continuously and immediately. Is there a limit on how much I can buy or sell at once? Individual orders through the Streamex interface are subject to a maximum of 1,000 GLDY tokens or $4.5 million USD per 48-hour period. Institutional investors seeking to transact above these thresholds may do so directly OTC with Wintermute. How long does it take? Instant. Both purchases and redemptions through Wintermute settle in real time at T+0. There is no waiting period. Does this cost anything extra? There is no added trading fee. As with any market, transactions are subject to a bid-ask spread, which varies based on order size and market conditions. No additional fees are charged beyond the spread. Is this available right now? Yes. Wintermute began quoting prices and bid/ask spreads for GLDY as of last week. The liquidity is live. Henry McPhie, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Streamex, said: "T+0 settlement is something traditional financial markets have spent years working toward for equities. GLDY has it today, for a tokenized gold security. What that means in practice is simple: investors are no longer waiting two days to have their transaction cleared. They buy, they own. They sell, they receive proceeds. That is how it should work, and that is now how GLDY works." About Wintermute Wintermute is one of the world's leading algorithmic trading and market-making firms, providing liquidity across major centralized exchanges, decentralized protocols, and OTC markets globally.
