Requirements
- Ownership over a section of the process flow including defect source investigation, trend monitoring, supporting Unit Part improvement items, and FCC (failed chip count) reduction
- Analytical analysis reporting with recommendations to determine root cause of defects (finding insights and trends in our data)
- Participate and potentially lead cross functional team meetings with Unit Part Representatives
- Initiate and execute defect reduction projects and root source finding activities
- Opportunity to communicate with internal and external customers as defect subject matter expert
- Basic knowledge of 8 major Semiconductor EQP (Photo Spinner, Scanner, Etch, CVD, Metal, CLN, IMP, DIFF, CMP)
- Modeling and Solution to Equipment Based Particles within the Manufacturing process
- Understanding Plasma Etch and Semiconductor Eqp. Process Recipes
- Understanding Semiconductor tool chamber parts (coating)
- Capability to handle Statistical Calculations relating to Big Data Analysis
- Experience analyzing Non-Production Wafer (NPW) & Process Recipe Optimization
- Analytical analysis reporting with recommendations to determine root cause of defects (finding insights and trends in our data)
- Participate and potentially lead cross functional team meetings with Unit Part Representatives
- Initiate and execute defect reduction projects and root source finding activities

- Knowledge on how to initiate defect source investigations, trend monitoring, Unit Part improvement items & Analysis, and FCC (failed chip count)/Yield reduction activities
- EQP element technology (Heat, Flow, Vacuum, Plasma, Robots & Moving Parts, Hardware)
- FDC (Sensor fault detection, EQP SPC parameters) knowledge/Experience
- EQP (Robot Transfer, Recipe, HW motion time, ISD, etc.) knowledge is preferred
- Data analysis (Defect Index reporting & Investigation/Effect analysis) would be a plus
- B.S or M.S Engineering Degree
- 3-5 years of LSI process experience
- Fundamental understanding of Semiconductor Process, Fab operations & Equipment
- Equipment Engineering experience OR vendor equipment experience such as TEL, SEMES, AMAT, etc
- Experience with analytical visualization tools (Spotfire or other popular visualization libraries)
- Familiar with using scatter, bar, line charts to convey statistical summaries to business stakeholders
- Fundamental understanding of statistical techniques (multi-variate analysis, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, initiation, & troubleshooting skills
- Experience in project management & application of six-sigma and/or lean manufacturing
- Fast learner with the ability to maintain an on-call schedule (nights/weekends) shared with coworkers
- Knowledge of basic computer applications and reporting skill (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of statistics and analysis techniques
- Experience with analytical visualization tools (Spotfire or popular visualization libraries)
- Ability to summarize/communicate and relay results & actions to a broad range of audiences
- Ability to learn quickly and keep deadlines while delivering quality analysis
- Consistent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Job Summary/Overview:
- The Defect Engineering team is seeking an innovative self-starter to join the Defect Diagnosis team. You would work alongside a team of engineers that investigate tool related defects within the manufacturing line. The engineers will work on specific fab related particle issues and will work with internal customers to brainstorm and help solve challenging integration problems, in efforts to improve quality and yield. This team consists of engineers that focus primarily on defect reduction projects and maintaining the tool health within the factory. Any new Defect Diagnostic engineer must be able to quickly learn the process flow, available defect investigation tools, factory process equipment, and continuously think of ways of solving complex equipment-based issues
