Requirements
- CPA designation required
- Permits to practice in Missouri and Kansas (or qualified to obtain)
- At least 6 years public accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Professional Standards
- Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge
- Familiarity with GASB reporting
- Single Audit experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Executive presence – ability to be primary contact for the client, prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients
- Solid decision-making skills
- Ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues
- Ability to be responsible for business development and marketing
- Ability to be responsible for engagement profitability including budgets, billings and collections
Responsibilities
- Supervising, directing audit teams, and reviewing the audit results through the delegation of tasks throughout the planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up stages of an audit engagement
- Presentation of audit reports and findings to client’s governing body
- Provide training to audit staff – training sessions & on-the-job training
- Be dedicated to the future of the firm and take a leadership role in growing the audit practice
- Overnight travel is minimal
Desired Qualifications
- Not-for-profit and governmental entities experience a plus
- Experience working in a paperless environment a plus
