Unique private equity analyst role within West Monroe Capital. Responsibilities will range across all areas of private equity firm including portfolio company tracking, oversight of firm operations & accounting, new investment analysis, and fundraising support.
West Monroe Capital is a private equity co-investment fund within the global technology consulting firm West Monroe. West Monroe Capital invests alongside West Monroe’s private equity clients and corporate clients in situations where our consulting firm can be helpful to the investment thesis. Opportunities are sourced through over 500 buy side technology diligence projects and 1,000’s of consulting projects performed by West Monroe annually. West Monroe counts most of the top 100 US private equity firms as clients.
Primary responsibilities:
- Portfolio Support
- Portfolio monitoring and maintaining internal investment tracking databases
- Update portfolio company valuation models
- Update fund level valuation / cash flow models
- Assist in preparation of quarterly fund reporting packages
- Interact with West Monroe’s consulting account coverage and project execution teams
- Accounting / Operations
- Assist with cashflow planning and processing across funds and the management company
- Work with fund administrator and fund managers to maintain quarterly activity for general ledger, facilitate monthly reconciliations, review fund financial statements, and support audit process
- Assist in maintenance of fund financial schedules and reporting in accordance with legal documents
- Assist in preparation of reporting packages for the management committee, investors, and lenders
- Investment Pipeline Management & Execution
- Assist with managing the initial screen of investment opportunities
- Maintain internal investment tracking databases including current pipeline, target data capture, and analytics models
- Support investment execution process, including company/industry specific due diligence, manager research, financial analytics, scenario analyses, and assist in the preparation of investment memoranda
- Attend all investment committee meetings
- Support internal and external pipeline reporting and analysis requests
Here’s what you should bring to the table:
- Solid analytical, problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills
- General understanding of private equity fund structure and business model
- Ability to structure, break-down, and present complex ideas and information in a simple persuasive form, both written and oral
- Professional presence and communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties
- Self-starter with desire for continuous learning and ability to work independently within the team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1 – 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, corporate finance, lending or investment analysis
- Proficient in use of Microsoft PowerPoint & Word, with advanced experience in Excel
- Occasional travel expected
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation

Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
