Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling or a related field.
  • One year of residential life, housing, or programming experience.
  • Must be able to live in a residence hall or other on-campus housing facility.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, present, track, and evaluate educational programs for students in designated residential communities.
  • Manage the daily operation of undergraduate and/or graduate residential facilities.
  • Hire, train, and supervise interns and graduate and undergraduate resident directors when required.
  • Serve as a conduct officer for the campus and adjudicate all levels of conduct cases, including suspension and expulsion from campus.
  • Advise residence hall directors on proper adjudication techniques and sanctions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for students' parents regarding housing situations.
  • Coordinate Housing's involvement in campus life activities when required.
  • Serve on and chair committees to develop long-range goals and strategic plans.
  • Counsel students on mental health issues as necessary and refer and follow up with residents to mental health professionals.
  • Serve as a liaison between faculty, academic department leadership, and students.
  • Coordinate renovation, repair, and maintenance needs of designated residential facilities when required.
  • Teach a resident assistant class when required and manage special projects.
  • Participate in the on-call staff rotation to respond to emergencies involving students.
  • Represent Housing at admission preview days and act as a liaison with the Admission office for student visits when required.
  • Manage a programming budget when required.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required.
