Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Sr. Oracle Database
Administrator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Oracle DBA is responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system. They will work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources are allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. They will proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. The DBA is responsible for assisting in providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management as well as provide problem escalation to Development team
and third parties as appropriate. In addition, they are responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollouts, upgrades, implementations, and release of database changes as required. They must possess familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures. They rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They perform a variety of tasks withlimited guidance and supervision and typically reports to a Team Lead.
- Provide data management support across multiple applications.
- 24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security, and performance.
- Administration with PL/SQL work
- Develop and administer Oracle databases.
- Performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Oracle databases.
- Management and maintenance of back-ups & recovery procedures
- Installation and maintenance of database server, replication, and client environments
- Reviewing and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code
- Assist with designing database packages and procedures.
- Security and access control
- Provision of support and assistance to development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of SQL queries and routines.
- Provisioning of (database) development and testing environments
- Writing ad-hoc queries based on schema knowledge for various reporting requirements Writing / Tuning data ingestion procedures from external suppliers and partners using PL/SQL, sql loader,3rd party tools eg. Toad etc
- Assist in supporting complex data models, object relational database mapping and producing complex reports.
- This job requires good analytical skills and attention to detail. Due to the dynamic nature of the business, self-motivation, and the ability to learn quickly are essential.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience and knowledge in multiple Oracle 19c multi layered environments with 24/7 support.
- Working knowledge of migration to higher Oracle databases (21c)
- Experience with large multi-tier databases (10TB or greater)
- Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL scripts including troubleshooting
- Hands on experience with RHEL and Linux x86-64bit multi-domain environments
- Possess limited System Admin or experience.
- Capacity to analyze technical responsibilities including Network configuration and App Servers Linux shell commands and shell scripting
- Experience with Oracle RMAN, Data pump Import/Export Utility, SQL*Loader
- Working knowledge of SQL Server databases and basic functionality
- Possess Oracle performance and tuning skills including server configuration and tracing facilities.
- Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Flexible for 1st and 2nd shift availability
- Available to provide support 24/7; notably availability for on-call and post shift hours.
- Experience with Oracle Quarterly patching and how each will be applied.
- Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.
- Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and the ability to prioritize on the fly.
- Experience supporting multiple teams within an organization.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to problem solve high pressure issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 7 or more years related professional experience. (Education can be substituted for 11 years of experience).Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain stationary up to 75% of the time in an office environment.
- Must be able to traverse between one work location to another to accomplish work duties.
- Must be able to operate IT equipment such as a computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to exchange information accurately.
- Must be able to read, review and effectively respond to electronic as well as verbal communications.
- This position supports an IT operations environment. Candidates may need to support work on nights and weekends and may be included in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Currently, the contract work location requirement is to work in the office at the customer’s site once weekly at a minimum. This is subject to change.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance.

The projected compensation range for this position is $122,600-$204,200. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
