Requirements
  • Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical discipline
  • Bilingual(Spanish)
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, scientific marketing, or clinical development
  • Knowledge of oncology customer segments and market dynamics in targeted geography
  • Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
  • Experience with clinical research
  • Demonstrated project management ability
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic)
Responsibilities
  • Act as the local medical leader responsible for developing a tailored strategy to meet the AZ USMA priorities in the disease area, as well as the local specificities and patient needs.
  • Develop strong working relationships in different external business settings (e.g. academia, hospitals, managed markets, private practices)
  • Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists and urologists and key members of the MDT.
  • Lead peer to peer scientific/medical interactions
  • Gather insights on the treatment landscape, evolving healthcare environment and practice, barrier to optimal treatment and patient care or opportunities to improve outcomes of patients with cancer
  • Discuss with KOLs, data and educational gaps to ensure adequate use of our medicines and to inform our R&D strategy to address patient needs
  • Stay current with scientific knowledge and attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Align with internal standard processes and follow regulatory and compliance requirements, while maintaining expertise in disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.
Desired Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing or equivalent
  • Familiarity with the drug discovery and drug development process
  • Oncology experience (academia, pharmaceutical, or other)
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience in Gastro-Intestinal Cancers
