Requirements
  • High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must reside in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
  • Flexibility to work Monday-Friday evenings, weekends, or during non-traditional hours, as required for event schedules.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the ASU Washington Center.
  • Experience in planning, organization and coordination of events.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Experience in work that requires attention to detail.
  • Experience taking the initiative to complete work which hasn’t been assigned.
  • Evidence of effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact professionally with event hosts and guests.
  • Experience in identifying quick, creative solutions to immediate problems that may arise during the planning and execution of events.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, especially in high-pressure situations leading up to and during events.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience in customer service.
  • Demonstrated reliability.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, push, and pull event materials and equipment weighing 30-50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite support during meetings and events, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
  • Handle last-minute changes or issues that arise during the event.
  • Direct onsite vendors, including overseeing load-in, setup, event production, and load-out, responding to requests, and ensuring the building remains in appropriate condition.
  • Reset furniture in preparation for the next scheduled meeting or event.
  • Provide post-event reports to the operations team.
  • Set up furniture and equipment, greet and escort vendors including caterers, address event host and guest needs, assist with event cleanup and load-out, and reset spaces for upcoming functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
