Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or project management
  • 10 years of experience developing products and/or managing engineering projects in a highly regulated environment (medical devices, FDA regulated industry) preferred
  • Applicable certification preferred (PMI) but not required
  • Program leadership roles either as a technical lead or project manager preferred
  • Experience in all phases of product development from concept to launch preferred
  • Experience in developing products designed for manufacturability – background and/or functional knowledge in manufacturing operations preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced ability to influence positive outcomes to meet goals at an organizational level
  • Extensive knowledge of product development process, requirements, and regulatory processes
  • Highly detail oriented, organized, and organizationally knowledgeable
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of tools, including Microsoft Project
  • Led multiple complex electromechanical projects within engineering or a closely related field
  • Ability to manage external development resources
  • Highly skilled in conflict resolution
Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with functional engineering, advanced sourcing, advanced quality, manufacturing, product management, and other functions to successfully complete engineering projects that meet the project budget, project scope, project timeline, and product cost
  • Collaborates with product management on customer research to deeply understand customer needs
  • Ensures proper customer knowledge and capabilities exists on the team to satisfy customer needs
  • Makes effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress the project
  • Develops and manages project plans, project strategy, resources, WBS, detailed schedule, budget, risk register, and contingency plans
  • Leads a cross-functional team in the development of a risk-based schedule
  • Collaborates with teammates to identify, prioritize, and schedule critical project milestones and deliverables
  • Coordinates project activities and teammates to ensure project goals and requirements are met
  • Leads and manages cross-functional project meetings at set cadences
  • Ensures timelines are reviewed with teammates and appropriate action items are taken and driven to closure
  • Prepares and presents project status reports, facilitate technical meetings, and design reviews
  • Manages technical and project risk within the project including adequate risk mitigation efforts and effectively issue escalation
  • Collaborates with project and functional personnel to resolve problems
  • Manages and documents scope changes from original specifications and the impact to timelines, resources, and/or project & product costs
  • Develops and maintains technical and project documentation
  • Maintains a list of key decisions and their impact that are made during the life of the project

Midmark RTLS launches BLE Sensory Network for faster, scalable healthcare location tracking

Midmark RTLS has launched its Bluetooth Low Energy Sensory Network, offering healthcare facilities a faster, more cost-effective path to facility-wide real-time location tracking. The system uses plug-in BLE sensors to provide near-room location precision of 3-5 metres for staff, patients and equipment. The solution supports critical use cases including asset tracking and staff duress, with minimal infrastructure investment and rapid deployment. Midmark is also releasing a BLE/IR Hybrid Sensory Network in limited early release, combining BLE coverage with infrared technology for room-level precision to support advanced applications like nurse call automation and patient flow. Since 1988, over 1,100 hospitals and clinics have deployed Midmark CareFlow RTLS. The new system is designed as an enterprise-wide platform that can scale with operational needs.
