Requirements
  • A doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a related field.
  • Licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Ohio within 18 months of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a clinical and consultative service presence within Buckeye Commons at Ohio State.
  • Provide brief individual, couples, and group counseling to university students, focusing on students who utilize Buckeye Commons.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments through Diagnostic Evaluations, triage screenings, and urgent problem-solving appointments.
  • Provide psychotherapeutic services to students regarding developmental issues, stress, career, academics, interpersonal concerns, and other mental health symptoms.
  • Provide case management in consultation with Counseling and Consultation Service staff.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education activities, and follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promote, describe, and educate students and stakeholders about mental health and wellness services and resources.
  • Address stigma related to mental health.
  • Conduct needs assessments and facilitate program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with Buckeye Commons staff and associated student organizations on clinical and programmatic needs.
  • Consult with faculty, staff, parents, and families.
  • Conduct psychoeducational workshops.
  • Provide regular evening services during the week and deliver services in person, with TeleHealth options when clinically appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • A doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is desired.
  • Psychologist licensure in the State of Ohio within four months of hire is desired.
