Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1, or willingness to obtain it according to Park Place standards.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment, especially in emergency situations.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize between cleaning and urgent situations.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely in an overnight, working-alone environment.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of resident and organizational information.
  • Must have a clear Criminal Record Check.
Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to resident emergencies, including medical alerts, falls, and urgent requests.
  • Respond to building emergencies such as fire alarms, floods, and security concerns by following established procedures.
  • Monitor security systems, cameras, and alerts, and conduct regular building checks.
  • Document and report all incidents according to policy.
  • Act as the primary overnight on-site contact for residents, families, and emergency services.
  • Complete assigned nightly cleaning tasks, including mopping floors, vacuuming carpets and rugs, cleaning and sanitizing public washrooms, removing garbage, managing waste, and cleaning common areas.
  • Stock and properly store cleaning supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with infection control and safety policies.
  • Identify and report maintenance or sanitation concerns.
  • Answer and direct phone calls and respond to inquiries as required.
  • Provide limited overnight front desk and reception coverage.
  • Document shift activity, incidents, and completed tasks in communication logs or reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as required.
  • Relay important information between departments.
  • Work independently while maintaining communication with on-call leadership when required.
  • Participate in orientation, training, and in-service sessions as required.
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Use safe work practices and proper body mechanics when performing cleaning duties.
  • Take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of residents, self, and others.
  • Report hazards, incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, concierge, or customer service is preferred.
  • Experience in a seniors living or healthcare environment is an asset.
